Despite my best efforts to do so, I missed the opportunity to take the EG6 to Mimms on sunday with a misfire just creeping in at 11;45pm Saturday night to dash my hopes.
That said, we did only collect the car on Wednesday from paint and got this far with it by Saturday evening, so I'll take it as a fair achievement!
Collected the car Wednesday last week:
Straight into the workshop on return.
We'd already prepped the B18C with a new timing belt, water pump, tensioner and oil/filter before hand.
Followed by all the necessary brake lines, brake servo, cylinder (clutch and brake) and bias valve.
Fuel filter bracket and lines on too.
Brakes test fitted, all good.
Refurbished cam cover fitted, along with an ITR DC2 airbox and intake tube.
Then it was panels/body associated parts.
I think the back end of an EG is the best part of them, such an iconic look!
Interior comprises of the original SiR2 purple tweed fold flat rear interior with DC2 SR3 Recaros up front.
Personal Neo Grinta steering wheel, Spoon delrin gear knob and SIR clocks.
Quite an effort, but fingers crossed this evening should be the first proper drive now its misfire has been fixed. (And the weather permits!)
A fairly simple spec, it should still provide lots of pleasure to drive and remain reliable.
