It's debut shakedown event will be a track day held on the A1GP circuit in Taupo, New Zealand, after which we will unleash it on an unsuspecting public!

Hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!

Cheers

amazing mate! congratulations, hope you can share some videos too! :)

Yeah I am giving the car its first shakedown run on the 25th of this month, and afterwards I'll have lots of videos, both in car and out.

they videos should be good. car looks awsume sure u will have loads of fun with it good luck

cool car. nice spec too. handy to have her road legal too!!!

What benefits does the hondata s300 have over the s200??

just wondering because im interested in upgrading my ecu

Nice car but would you not use a 1.8 bottom end for the track? and what about head work to support the throttle set up?

Thanks for the comments guys.

This car will run in 1600 class until the motor decides its had enough. After which we will look at K20 or similar. With Skunk2 as a sponsor it opens up the options somewhat :)

The car already outcorners many of the 1800 cars, and with the 4.929 final drive we are hoping it will make better use of the power band and accelerate better too.

Wow, that's a loaded question!

To be honest, no-one here in New Zealand uses the S200 any more. The benefits of the 300 series ECU put it up there with Apexi Power FC (and no, I don't want to spark a big debate here).

On board data logging, real time fuel and ignition map adjustment, the list goes on. With the correct module installed it can even handle traction control!

S300 hands down if you can afford it. If you can't wait until you can!

nice zebra :p no seriously thats a nice car i like the spec too!!good luck wit it on the debut!

Been a while since I first started the thread!

Unfortunately I didn't make it to it's first shakedown event, after having drama after drama I threw in the towel at the 11th hour and decided not to rush things for safety's sake.

Anyway I have spent the past few weeks tweaking this and that, and adding a couple of things:

Recaro SPG driver's seat
Takata 6 point harness
Wet carbon rear wing
Finally got tyres on the WedsSport wheels so I can go to the shops for bread and milk!

Here is a rough pic, but new seat and harness not in yet.

Hitting the track next Friday for sure - vids up in a week or so!

I have some new engine mounts (Innovative billet aluminium) so I will take a pic when it stops raining and post it for you.

Thanks for your comments, makes it all worth it (for my wife anyway) :D

Those throttle boddies must sound amazing in VTEC! Proberley sounds like a small airplane:wow: Need 2 post some videos of that sound asap!!!

they look awsume would luv to have a shot of a v-tec with itb must feel mad.

what kind of throttle bodys are they or you make them up your self. seen a few people use them off bikes

Very nice project! :nice: Keep it up, theres never enough to modify.

I noticed your using the JDM 4-1 ITR oem headers, I've ordered this but haven't decided on which car I should install it on. Did you get a chance to verify the power/torque differences vs stock or aftermarket 4-2-1 headers? It would be very interesting. I've heard some tuners in US claim that nothing beats it in making power and torque. Thanks! :nice:

Yes indeed - it seems the project never ends!

Here in New Zealand there are all sorts of enthusiasts whoo are into diferent things - JDM, Honda Tech kinda style, VIP etc. I love pumped guards and huge body kits and wings. When I'm finished with this car I think you'll either love it or hate (I'll love it of course) but I can say one thing for sure - it'll be FAST :)

The 4 - 1 Header is the best bang for buck header you can buy in my opinion. Sure, there are better headers out there, but for $300 (about 100 pounds sterling?) New Zealand dollars you can't really go wrong.

I have been told (don't know if it's in fact true or not) that Mugen 4 - 1 headers for B series are the exact same design, but only don't have any heat shields, use a stainless flange for the header mounts, and of course carry the Mugen badge etc.

The ITB setup is a hybrid Toyota 4AGE silvertop set that was extensively modified (!) to fit the B16b. The mounting plate and intake runners, as well as the trumpets, are made from aluminium, and with the Hondata phenolic intake gasket in place they don't conduct much heat at all. They have been adapted to take the honda fuel rail (albeit modified), and stock injectors are used also.

Vtec comes on at 5000rpm, max torque at just over 6000rpm, and max power at just over 8000rpm (red line at 8,250 as the car wasn't making any more power so no point going higher).

With the 4.9 final drive installed, when changing at 8250rpm the revs come back down to max torque - exacty where it should be!

It's already quick in a straight line, but hopefully once dialled in it'll be real fast around corners too.

Cheers
