First of all hi everyone. This is my on going build of my EK9. I've never done a build thread before but I've read plenty. This is my second Honda as my first was an EP3 (which has donated its engine for this one).

I bought the car in October for quite cheap from Portsmouth which is 7 hours from home in Cumbria. A very long day but worth it! Here it is in a petrol station

Here's a few when I got it home

I like the FN2 seats but I'm currently trying to swap them for originals if anyone wants to?

I bought this car in particular because for one it was yellow :) and it had the following mods which I knew would sell easily
-Spoon N1 (which I am keeping)
-Spoon B pipe
-De-cat
-Otto racing manifold
-HKS induction kit
-New GP Sports coilovers direct from Japan
-Adjustable camber arms
-Ported and polished B16B with recent cambelt and Mugen headgasket

and the standard features on the EK9 that will be swapped for DC2 items
-Steering rack
-Subframe
-Front arb
-ECU

Here's a few pictures of removing the engine with my friend

Has anyone got any good tips for bringing up the engine bay? I've been using Autoglym tar remover which is doing O.k but taking a very long time.

Here is my recent order from Karcepts (shiny shiny) Brian was an excellent help and I would recommend them to anyone. The cat wasn't part of the order, I had him already :)

And here's my diff

After getting a tip from a guy off civic life to use WD40 and a cloth to clean up my engine bay this is how I got on

I was pretty pleased with the results :)

I've removed the interior and started cleaning/treating the rist inside the car. There's not much but it needs seeing to

Most of my parts have now come. I'm just waiting on my drive shafts, earthing kit, hybrid racing shifter box and my gearbox back from getting the lsd fitted. When the gearbox comes back it'll all get put together. Its taking a while because he's doing it in his spare time at work for a bottle of Jack Daniel's lol

I bought an Integra subframe and steering rack from r motion so here's that fitted with the rear Hasport mount.

I've removed most of the suspension parts and got them shot blasted from a local guy. They're to be powder coated next week in black to freshen up the underneath.

Finally here's my order :D. Clustmaster's stage 1 clutch, k swap full width rad, Hybrid racing shifter cables, radiator pipes, intake, EK9 swap loom, 12" fan, ultra light weight flyweel, tucked fuel line kit, full hard race bush kit, air freshener and t-shirt

I've been looking for seats for a while and have finally bought some. I drove to Tamworth on Monday to get these off a guy on Civiclife.

Cheers mate. The front bumper could do with a respray to be honest but that's last on the list. Plenty of other stuff to do first!

My re-furbished Cam cover came on Monday to so I fitted it tonight. Pretty pleased with how it looks!

I ran into a problem while fitting my air filter
DSC00232.jpg

The washer bottle had to be removed to make room for filter and it wouldnt get through its MOT without one so off down the scrapyard I went and found an EG civic. I used its coolant bottle to make a new washer bottle that fit

looking sweet budy, am in middle of kswapping my dc2. Good to see others at it too!!

nice project man, did the karcepts mani set you back much? Look forward to the updates

Thanks everyone. Yeah the Rcrew mani was quite expensive even though its on offer at the moment! Its supposed to be one of the best ones for the price though plus it can accommodate a K24 should I ever want to go down that route

Thats handy alright, looks slick! Lots of k-swaps popping up lately !

Going to be a nice build:nice: Rcrew is a good header infact highest power k20a I have tuned to date had a Rcrew header:win:

you need a gangsta bumper :)

DSC_0042.jpg

Talk to me:)

Is that an airwalker front bumper? It looks smart but I'm keeping mine looking standard for now. If I ever need an intercooler I might have it off you ;)

Im going to be following this build closely, cant beat y56

Cheers hopefully it won't take to long to complete aslong as I can sell my engine

I've read its very good :). What power did it make if you don't mind me asking? Would it be o.k for use with a supercharger?

^ What he said!

Going to be awesome when all together, Good work! :nice:

272bhp NA and 325bhp on nitrous!! results are from a Maha dyno. Sure, once you got a decent size catback behind it. If going SC further down the line go with a 3" catback now. Even on a NA stock K20 3" catback has proven to give the best results:nice:

Super cool, cant wait to get started with mine.
