Just thought i share something with EK9 boys which left me baffled.
Checked for insurance quotes for following cars on confused .com. My details in brief:
Age 27 , license held 10 years, 4 years bonus, 9 points (6=no insurance, 3=u turn on slip road:angry:)living in birmingham. Cover was for third party fire theft.
Civic EK9 = approx £800
Integra type R = approx £1700
Integra SIR JDM = approx £800
Got over excited with EK9 quote and checked another site - churchill.
Integra R = approx £1200 - not bad
Civic EK9 = approx £1800 :nono:

Glad to see you are taking insurance seriously now :)

The EK9 is a group 20 car so expect it to be pricey with 9 points.

Try Sky Insurance and Adrian Flux

Thanks mate, but it wasnt like i was going without insurance forever- i only left it for like a few weeks until i got some £££ to pay for my renewal.
Then when i was ready, i got stopped the day i could have done it:shocked::shocked::shocked: BAD LUCK!!
I even had a quote saved but.....

try noel dazely mate i am 25 2 years ncb and 3 points, £795 fully comp all mods declaired and no limited millage policy, adrian flux wanted £1650 and sky wanted £900+

I spoke to Elephant yesterday to arrange my cover. The Civic Vetec R is the EK9 as I had it double checked. Its a group 15 whith them, which is about right with regards engine size and performance.
Quote was £268!! but I am 37.
Other quotes were
Acadamy: £345
Norwich Union £360 after cash back
A Plan: £318

Hope this helps::)

I rang elephant about 10 times, and they kept saying thats the wrong car

Admiral and Elephant do not list the ek9 on there database. I had the same trouble a couple of weeks ago. Went with Sky:nice:

Elephant can be cheap. I was with them 3 years ago but had to go else where since they dont accept 6 points.

Sky offered me a good quote on the EK9, same price as what im paying on my ek4 vti!
Although they can't insure me on anything bigger then 1.6 i.e dc2/ep3.

Ive actually gone with Admiral now as they do multicar and I have an Alfa Cloverleaf to insure aswell.
I had Elepant check and they told me it is the 1600 type R (EK9)

That,s interesting as Admiral wouldn,t quote me a few weeks ago as the EK9 is not on their computer?
