Insurance question!

sky gave me an excellent quote, but unfortunately i had to stay with my current insurer until my policy runs out in June, as teh previous insurers wanted to retain 90% of the whole policy fee if i was to change mid way, i will be sure to get another quote from sky in June :)

I cant fault Sky at all. I was with Flux for around 3 years & they gave me a ridiculous quote!!! Im now with Sky paying around £600 fully comp. This obviously wont be the same for everyone but you can guarentee they know the car & its insured properly. I would avoid moneysupermarket & similiar internet based quotes because when i was searching for ins before i had my EK9 i used registration numbers off other EK9's in the country & they came up as the EP3 as stated earlier in this thread. Keep up the good work Ollie :nice:

got a call today, but best they could give me was 1751 with a 400 deposit.

Best quote ive now got is 1400 with budget.

If you dont mind me askin, how old are you ek9soon? Also sky insurance policy is that you have to be 19 years old or older and have had a liscence for 2 years or more. Does this mean a full liscence or does the provisional count also? I am asking this because I will be 19 in a few months but have only been passed a year!

You need to be over 19 years old and have held your full licence for 2+ years

im 19 mate, 1ncb.

I live in a safe area (in the middle of nowhere), where theres about 50 people, that plays a big factor in it. I tried it with my girlfriends address and it went up nearly 450 quid.

:)

I do feel sorry for you young ones, insurance is just mental now! I wanted an EK9 when i turned 21 but insurance then was still £1800!!! Instead i got an imported Pulsar GTiR & that was only £900 fully comp with Tesco, but the Pulsar is only half the car compared to the EK9. I think unless your absolutley loaded wait until your at least 25 because no car is worth getting yourself in debt over. The EK9 will still be there in a few more years time.

Well i got a quote today from elephant and an EK9 did come up on there and the cheapest they could do was £4660! Absoloutley gutted! Looks like I am going to have to wait now and keep the saxslow a bit longer!

Half the car??? A 4x4 Turbocharged car that weighs the same as a Saxo is half the car of an Ek9??? You for real??

Would the GTiR not hammer a 9??? Thought they were 227bhp standard!?

they ain`t as quick as you`d think them pulsers, still fast but just not as you`d expect. Break down every 10 mins as well !

Well for 1 they arent really that light, having 4x4 should tell you that.
The problems are endless, the handling is nothing compared to the EK9, mine was dyno'd at 260bhp & it ate a brand new clutch in 2 months which is an engine out jobby to replace one, gearbox is crap, interior is shite, it used £20 of petrol every other day on prices 5 years ago, if it came on boost while conering all i can say is hold on & hope you dont crash & no they arent really what you can call really fast. Its a Primera GT engine with a turbo slapped on it!!!! Its an all round crap car that looks awesome & angry!!!

And no a stock Pulsar wouldnt hammer an EK9 on track, it would probably overheat & breakdown aswell.

The EK9, only fault i can find is that rear passengers trip over the seatbelt when getting out because its not on a slide rail. It does everything you ask of it & has the reliability to match hence the GTiR being half the car.

Auch well i Like and have always liked them all be it there very fragile cars, they can punch well above there weight.

I was at crail a while back and this guy had one it destroyed everything up the strip, one id spoke to the guy he'd said he had the usual problems with it but it was still very impressive to watch a Pulsar out drag r33's,Sti's christ the list was endless, all be it there not the most relaiable cars on the road!

Had a quote from warwick davies, who want to charge me £90 more than my R32 GTR which i sold last week!!!!!:nono:
