Insurance Black Boxes

I'd guess there will be a huge market for people that don't want the black boxes and as such certain companies will still take them on, such as the ones advertising on this site maybe?

just another way for insurance companies to bend us over a barrel.

We had emails about my missus' sons driving with black box fitted, saying if he continues as he is, then the insurance would go up. Odd, considering head gasket gone and it was in the drive for 3 months.........

Just the government edging their way in for the ability to trace/track our every move, convincing us it will be 'safer' and 'save us money' in the long run etc... the usual crap!

Well that's my suspicious theory anyway.

As kipper said just another way big brother can keep an eye on you

Hmm I don't think it is so much the government wanting to keep tabs on us, their job is to try and reduce road accidents and fatalities. It's like being back in school, because a select few fail to obey the law, everyone has to pay the price. There are so many people these days driving around like d1ckheads (mostly young male drivers), and the only way to try and resolve this problem is to come up with a system where every driver has to cooperate. Unfair? Maybe... As is life. I personally wouldn't care, but I'm not sure it would work, I think it would just prompt more people to drive uninsured.

I think, in order to reduce road traffic accidents, driving tests need to be much harder, penalties should be much higher, and there should be stricter rules for new drivers.

Rant over....

I reckon for that to try and reduce these 'young male' drivers or female w/e, a driving licence should be handled much like the motorbike licences. In stages, restrictions on power/engine size etc.

Sure it may not be ideal for everyone, but people tend to mature more and think before they act later on in life (not saying us young whipper snappers don't do that anyway but hey)

^ Agreed ^ :rvm:

Stupid idea, just another way of being big brother on us.

As above, more experience on roads is the key. Insurance is far to expensive anyways.

Usual **** the public wont be able to do anything about. Being forced into something is what boils my piss. Most people who have been driving for years pay very little anyway

Look at finland i think it is, minimum of 6 years tuition before your allowed on the roads, that involves skid pans and allsorts. If it was really a cheaper/safety issue we would be copying finland. No wonder so many good rally drivers come from there

I do agree with fljoshua129 but you cant deny the ability to track and trace your every move will be there if its needed
