let say we are using 15x7 wheels on racing track using smaller et wheels like et25 gives better handling than et50 ?
also the 'turn in'' goes worse as the et gets smaller?

Lower the offset the wider the track, meaning better handling. I run 15x7 et35 with a 5mm spacer, its very good, the wheels stick out a fair bit, with a plate diff the grip is immense, not sure how low an offset you could actually run, depends on other components I suppose.

et35 +5mm spacer that means et30 right ?
how is the turn in compared to smaller front ets ?

Does moving from 6.5" to 7" wide rims make much difference when using the same 195 tyres??
I have been trying to work out the best alround wheel size and offset for best feel, grip and brake clearence was considering 15x7 et 35? because i dont want the wheels to stick out to much and have rubbing issues.

My rims just stick out, will try and get a picture, turn in is very sharp but camber settings have a big factor here too Im sure, expect there are others with more technical knowledge, I just know what works for me at my level.
I run a 205/50/15 tyre on track, I have tried 195 all round, and 205 up front and 195 at the rear, I like the 205 all round, I only run -2 on the fronts at the moment as I use my car daily it suits, I will step up to -2.5 soon though and probably leave it at that.
I think the car is more planted with a 195 tyre on a 15x7, but again just me. As for rubbing mine is not that low, 33cms in the top trump calculation, arches are rolled anyway.

I recently changed from

15x6.5" ET42, 10mm front spacers

to

15x7" ET35, 6mm front spacers

Both running 195/50/15 R888 tyres

Change of wheels was due to clearance issues on new brakes, however glad i have!

Not had a chance to drive it much before the snow but feels alot more planted as it is now, running the front wheels spaced out is amazing, really improves turn in

I am running -4deg camber on the front and -1.5deg on the rear, rear arches i roleld a little before but needing to roll them proper as the tyres just catch now over big bumps

Pic here shows how they sit

im running 15X9 (+32) and 20mm spacer for the front and 15X7 (+30) ar the rear

Would using 15/7" et 45 wheels be ok with no issues or is et 40 better?

17 x 9 - 22 offset wheels

25 mm spacer

235 40 17 tires

Hehehehehe :naughty:

949 6UL Rims 15X9 and 20mm spacer

i dont have pics yet as the rims are still in transit from another state, but yeah the guy b4 ran them on his time attack EG. i just bought the set up off him. this is his car.

It will be fine, et40 is better as the track will be wider.

Here is a pic of mine, not a great one but shows 'about' 20mm of rubber..

Cool i think with my 15x6.5" ET45 at the moment. Upgrading to 15x7" ET35 should be a good happy medium for the road/track. As i want to have plenty of clearance id i decide on bigger brakes. Most likely go for some teamdynamics as theyr supoosed to have one of the best clearances.

15x7 et35 is a pretty good choice mate, give best of both (wide wheels for good handling and good offset for big brake clearance)

I wish my TE37 track wheels were 7" wide - i may regret going from 7" down to 6.5" width

17 x 9 - 22 offset wheels

235

235 cross section on a civic, bonkers! :wow:

Is that -22 or +22 offset? surely must be +22 with 9" width?

car looks great, love the arch extensions, looks quite the track weapon.

Just bought my track wheels and went for 15/7'' et35 as the slips with a et40 need 3mm spacers to fit behind my wilwoods. Just need some nice weather to get them fitted :nice:

Just realised i had this photo

15x7 ET35, 6mm spacer, the lower arm is jacked up too

15x7 et32 195/50/15 i think it's ideal. i had no clearance issues even being 5cm lowered
