Just wondering how much k20 conversions are in to a teg/ek9 these days in ireland here icetronix do it for 5000euro fitted not sure is that dear or cheap?
Any other quotes?

Cheap by the sound of it. Here in England, I'm getting figures around £7-7.5k for a complete ek9 conversion

Its an awful lot of money:(
I reckon ur better off goin b18c with the ek9 for what a 1000euro and with supporting mods making about 200bhp at the fly and ur not far off k20 speed with a whole lot of change left!

lol your not better going off b18c ? k20 has more torque and surpasses a tuned b18c significantly with stock bolt ons and standard internals! Not to mention the k20 has a 6 speed gearbox, so your not better off at all lol

Yes i know that a k20 ek9 will beat a b18 ek9 all day but what i meant was a 200+ bhp b18 ek9 will be faster than standard dc5s and ep3s and most of them are standard as mods for k20s are mad money!
If you k swap your left with about 210bhp unmapped for 7000 sterling
If you b18 swap your about 180bhp unmapped for 1000 sterling
Put the other 6000k into the b18c and youll have big power

ya i can see your point of view b18 ek9 prob would beat a stock dc5 power to weight ratio and all that but 6000k into a b18c you be lucky to hit 240bhp the most i seen a b18 was 234bhp at fly on itbs cost nearly 4k on mods over the years rebuild all that tuning etc you can get a k swap package stage 3 for 3700 usd with charges prob cost ya 3 k in euro engine box in ireland go for 1600-2k so icetronix are doin very good money there fitted i wreckon they use uk ep3 and there still a fab engine you could say there like the b16a2 and the dc5 is the b16a slight diff from factory but more less same youd do it cheaper now as more people buying parts a k20 in a ek9 or any car dc2 eg6 is just mental man b18s are everywhere now and some or most are smokey still brill engine its a argument that could go on for ages for 6-7k youd have some turbo set up that would mangle any k20 or b18 also even cheaper

Ya man k20s are superior to b18c day
Would ya the diference between uk and jap spec isnt huge and 5000euro for the conversion aint bad youd want another 2000 euro to get it mapped and lil bits id say but would be sweet:)

Its really very basic. There is no argument that a B series is better than a K series because it isnt. But value for money, it can be. you can spend a lot less money boosting a B series that will blow away all NA K series. Its really just down to personal preference assuming you have the money. The reasons for going K is the fact that you keep stock reliability, you will make more NA power and its ****ing badass.
As honda enthusiasts we tend to love NA cars and this is why the K swap is so popular.

7000e give in Greece for the conversion from ej to ek_something_ for the b18c jdm engine..These are mad money or what?

For the money I think a B18 is more tempting to most people. A K20 is a different league of both performance and cost. Would love a shot of one to compare though!

if its pure power you are after.... £££/BHP i don't think much can beat B16A2/B18C4 and a turbo when it comes to £££/BHP

are the b16a engines worth more than the b16a2's??

someone once made the point that when both engines were dyno'd,

the a2 was dynod on 95 octane everyday petrol in uk, and the jdm b16a was dynod in japan with their super juice, so theyre really closer in bhp than figures say

I am loking at the cheapest options of K swap the most expensive parts seem to be mounts and management. All other parts just take a little time and paitence/skill if you can do it yourself i dont see the costs being to high.

I did now for around 4.5k but that was in a eg and a few years ago.

No you wont. Youl still more than likely make less power and less torque than the Kswap.

If you have to ask how much its going to cost you cant afford it.

:nice:

And 4x more likely to end up with a blown engine.

End of the day to get any B series up to the same N/A performance as a K20 with just bolt on's It will cost you just as much as a K swap or even more and be much more unreliable having an engine tuned almost to its limits.

N/A 240hp/160lbft will cost you at least in the aprox region of £5000 minimum done properly. Its up to you weather you want a mega tuned B18 or B20 with a tone of extra breathers and oil cooler just to keep it from blowing up or if you would rather an internaly stock engine with just intake, exhaust and remap with scope for even more power if you really want it.

here is my 2 cent about having a K vs. b series motor. I have spent close to $10 g's on my k-swap, minor upgrades included. i have had my k-swap since 2007, daily driven with regular maintenance and services. still going strong and spanking most B-series, S2k, subaru, and evo's on the freeway. now my buddy's fully built B-series with modifications that totals close to $10 g's does the same thing.
the difference is that he is always tweaking and maintaining things on his motor to insure that it still runs strong because it is high maintenance, spending more to keep it strong, vs. my K-series where its mainly stock, the more stock it is, the less you need to worry about it.

but to answer your question.
ekk1 mounts: at least $350
2004 type s engine harness: $200
k20a2 long block: $1500

axels: $250
