I've got some DC2 98 spec wheels which I've sanded, primed and am now at the paint stage.

I've got a suction feed gun and when spraying the wheels with high build it was a pain in the arse to do the inner spoke area, I can only imagine that if I had been using paint instead of primer it would have been dripping everywhere going over places I'd already sprayed trying to get proper coverage.

What is the best way to spray them?

*I'm using high-gloss Ford Gentian blue cellulose over white primer.

reduce the paint spray pattern to about 2inches and set the needle flow for paint to 1.5 turns out at approx 50-60 psi to force the paint into the corners, test it then on an old wing or something like that to see how many coats it takes to make it run, it will probably take 3 thin coats and then 1 thick coat to get it right leaving 10 minutes between coats depending on the temperature, when its touch dry its ready for the next coat

I got a perfect finish with basic gloss black halfords spray paint.

NO paint run No drips No running NO marks got it in all the parts of the alloys and they look mint...honest though you'd be amazed at the finish with just spray paint, i simply lightly sprayed them and kept adding a layer every 20 minutes for about 2 - 3 hours.

lol sorry i can't be much help with tech spraying.. get some pictures up when you are in the process mate and the final product, i'm looking into buying some real spray gear as opposed to spray can's lol.

They were in very bad shape, I was using them to hold a tent down.

Thanks for the advice, I have to learn to be patient, I just want to spray it in one coat lol.

Edit: I used a 0.8 gravity fed touch-up gun and it worked great, got a good finish on them.
