Hondata S300 tuners please read

My mate has a hondata S300 v2. His car has been tuned and is running well but there are subtle changes he wants to make to the engine and therefore the tune, however the file is locked so that only the tuner can open/edit it, the problem with this is the people who tuned his car have gone out of business and after repeated attempts are not contactable. So I guess the question is what can he do? Taking the car somewhere else to have the whole tune removed and redone would be out of the question due to cash flow. He just wants to be able to make small changes to the current tune himself.
 
im assuming he cant get access to a copy of the map file? if he can/does then youll need to reset the ecu(clear security) and then reupload his map again.
short of that its a retune unfortunately.
 
Thanks for the advice, unfortunately no he's doesn't have a copy of the map so he stuck!
