Hkb boss kit help

Hello! I drive a Honda civic 98 1,5 vtec-e hatchack. I've resently bought an HKB boss kit OH 207. The problem i have is that my steering wheel is not aligned straight after i fitted the boss. How come the original wheel was spot on and now it's either slightly to the left or right but never centered?

Did you align the location marks on the boss with the splines ?
Did you make sure your wheels were pointing straight before you took everything apart ?

I miss aligned mine by one or two splines and it put my wheel out of align too, takes a few tries to get it right.

Yes i reinstalled the boss multiple times with my wheels striaght. It's like it can't be directly in the middle. The boss is either off one spline to the left or right.
