So i hit a small dip on the way to work, nothing amazing i always do but then my car died like it was hit by an EMP! Now i have no spark, car turns over but won't fire. I also have noise coming from IACV (buzzing noise).

So far i have replaced coil/igniter/dizzy/IACV and still it does not start :( Spark is intermittent at best, i get spark some of the time and the car will fire, the tach does not match the actual RPM then the car dies immediately.

Please halp!

Have you tried the ECU connection Blinx? May have come loose in the footwell....

Check the inertia switch behind glove box, seen this trigger a few times when people hit a bad bump, although don't think you would be getting any spark at all with that triggered so might not be the cause worth a look anyway.

1st check all your Grounds! any wire harness plug in the engine loose? valve adjustment is probably your next option!

I thought the inertia switch only cut petrol off to save it pumping petrol through the lines when the car is in a crash

so if you happened to crash and split feul lines then this switch would be very usefull

It cuts ignition and fuel but what I found when I used a standalone ecu the inertia switch didn't kill the fuel pump so pump still primed when I turned the key on.

I checked all grounds, not familiar with this inertia switch, is it a toggle switch or something i would have to replace? I also checked ecu plugs and everything is tight, i can still data log also.

Its a push button switch, just push down on it to reset. Its located behind glovebox on EK's

Yea could be the inertia switch. Just behind the glove box to the right hand side.. I know that what was preventing my old vti-s from starting after I skidded and had a bang in with a tree

Apparently usdm 96 civic does not have an inertia switchfrom wat ihave read, can anyone confirm this?

Ill check the altenator cabel something like that happened to me and it was that all i did was put it back then it was good !

do you think it might have jump timming

Already checked, i think my aem box may have gone bad, i found the power cable of my amp exposed and resting against the aem ecu, will try a friends tomorrow, wish me luck!!
