Hi

:welcome: To the forum. Nice car I presume it’s new to you? As said above is it standard or has it got some subtle mods? Looks good either way :nice: I love a pre facelift!

Thanks @Pete180 & @gwalker124!

I've owned the car around 2 months now & i absolutely love it! Doesn't fail to put a smile on my face
It has BC race coilovers, S/S exhaust & decat, dc2 manifold, homemade induction kit (already on car)... that's pretty much it.
It will be having some restoration work done shortly (when I can peel myself out of the seat ha ha!) I will try to keep progress posted

Sounds good. Get a build thread up so people can see your progress. I know what you mean about putting a smile on your face they are such fun cars to drive. I can’t wait to get mine back on the road next year.

If you need any help there are some really well informed guys on here (not me ha ha) who should pretty much be able to answer anything so your in the right place.

Ah not long then! You new to the Honda/car scene in general? First one or.
Some nice basic mods already there then :) restoration as in rust? Lol if so, pretty common on EK shape civics unfortunately :( ours needs doing too! If need any advice etc will try to help

Thanks guys! I'll definitely start a build thread, will be nice for me to keep track of progress too :) it's not the most torquey but certainly alot of fun! How come yours is off the road @gwalker124

First honda @Pete180.. been driving 7 years so coming to the jap side has been a little while coming! I've had a few vehicles but a mk4 golf on bags was when I started to mod cars. Thankfully no rust, arches are all solid & its mechanically sound. The paintwork is just really, really bad! I'll post the pictures on a build thread (eventually) ha ha!

Yeah Hondas tend not to be torquey and all the power in the ek is above 5.5k revs but that’s what makes it fun to drive :drive:

It’s been off the road for 3 years now . Had my first kid 3 years ago so I needed a family car and couldn’t afford to run both so parked it up in the garage. Got another baby on the way now but the missus is going to get a big family car and i think I’ll pull the civic out the garage and put some money in to it :naughtyx:

You basically have to drive like a yobbo everywhere ha ha ha!! Congratulations on the baby @gwalker124 ! But yeah definitely give the civic a little love.. personally I couldn't handle having kids near the car.. the thought of squashed crisps in the seats terrifies me ha ha! I hope the daily drivers keeping you entertained in the mean time :)) haha!

@Briana May ahh ok! not a bad first Honda then to get, straight to an ek9 lol oooh you were a euro stance chick then? :p fair enough, some of them can look awesome and great for show! love some of the old euro cars. Oh that's good cause rust is the killer on these old hondas :/

Its most definitely not @Pete180!! I agree, some look gorgeous as show cars but personally that's not my thing anymore.. jap was where my heart was at so what better way than to jump both feet first into an ek9! :D even if she did look kinda pretty ha ha

Ooh that does look pretty cool tbf! nice fitment on the wheels :) I used to be really in to the stance stuff, even got some stance style wheels for my em1 till I realised how bad it drives lol you lose the fun of driving (for hondas anyway as they need thrashing to get going) gone back to a OEM/fast road setup now myself

She had 3 sets of wheels in the time I owned it.. I got bored easy! In a wierd way, I was kind of glad a woman crashed into me.. gave me a little more motivation to take it off the road & get a jap car.. although a year and a half later I still have the golf :/ ha ha! I've got some genuine 3 piece splits for the honda that don't affect it's driving ability but I actually prefer the look of the standard wheels! Jap cars in my eyes aren't supposed to be stancey! Saying that I've seen a couple nice em1s stanced & do actually look really smart :D

Welcome along, good to see some new faces joining the forum and keeping it alive! As mentioned above get a build thread up so we can keep a close on on it, looks to be a good example :))

Ha ha yeah it’s great. Thanks it’s going to be a bit of a crazy end to the year new baby and new house :nerv:

Yeah my kids won’t get near the car for that very reason. Also don’t think my missus would allow them in the car, it’s not child friendly lol

Daily driver is a diesel Octavia vrs, not the most exciting but such a good car. I have to hand it back in November though as only leasing it.

Your golf looks good, not a fan of the stance stuff myself but I like the fitment of your rims, not all cambered out lol. Maybe it’s an age thing ha ha

Oh and sorry to hear about the golf crash, hope you weren’t injured.

@Briana May 3 sets of wheels haha nice, I'm on my 2nd! (not counting the original ones it came on). Ohh ouch! woman crashed into it, how bad was it? :nono: haha hard to let things go, I can't imagine selling my car yet would crush me! I get too attached lol my brothers got some genuine bbs 3 piece wheels for his EK, just for a show'n'shine look. Being mine is an em1, I thought it'd be a sin to stance it! rather a fast road setup

@Briana May lovely ek9 you've got. I've had mine 3 years now! I haven't got bored of it yet! I've got only a short list of mods, twin coilovers, mugen intake and mugen twin loop exhaust, tegiwa camber kit. I also have a golf GTi 1.8 as my daily, only had that a year, and thats standard, buts needs to be lowered a bit but maybe not stanced like yours.
