Good day chaps, and ladies!

I was browsing the web and saw this forum dedicated to the CTR EK9. I don't own an EK9 but have always wanted one. Somehow when I moved to Japan I decided to buy a DC2 instead.

Been here for 3 years and loving it. Got the '99 spec DC2 Rx in 2005 and its still going strong. Done 115000km and the old soldier needs a new CV joint and a gearbox rebuild. Other than that, never had any problems larger than worn tyres.

I go exclusively to TYPE ONE garage in Tokyo for tuning and my local Honda dealer for maintenance.

I live in Kanagawa and at the weekends the touge winding roads of Hakone beckons me as I try it out with local street racers and blokes just doing the runs.

Please drop me a line for any information or goods you need from Nippon.

Here's my auto....

Hi everyone

Thank you for the warm welcome and greetings. Yes its nice to live in Japan solely because of the cars and motorsports scene. However as Techy commented there are certain things that could potentially put you off I don't doubt. Even though I am half Japanese I still can't fully accept and understand some things here. Having said that while I understand most of it being a fully bred British guy I can't accept the way they do things sometimes.

It hasn't been bad enough to make me run away somewhere else though. I feel some of the best things in Japan is the fact that you can pretty much do your own thing without people poking their noses into your business. The Japanese in general like their their personal space and they expect others to respect it as well.

The car enthusiasts here are a likable bunch, even if drifting and the GT-R or anything Skyline seems to be in the blood of most Japanese males. I found that Japanese car freaks aren't show offs. Never once have I got challanged at the traffic lights or seen anyone trying to do fancy stunts on the road. That job's for the bozozoku bikers. An atrocious crew.

type-r-dunk: Hakone is indeed marvelous isn't it? Did you get to eat the black eggs?

jamincivic: Good day sir! What are you doing all the way in Chugoku? The roads there should be really nice and windy I suppose. Never been that far south yet. What's your auto?
