Help! B16a Big End / Rod Bearing Failure

Good idea, gauges help get a good base mark of oil pressure and temp

Unless you run a dry sump system then you always run the risk of oil starvation on track so overfilling is a good call

Because we live in a cold enough climate I don’t really see the need for an oil cooler if you run a good full size radiator, OEM oil cooler and a NA car... with a turbo then temps may call for an external oil cooler

Unfortunately my salary won't allow a dry sump system ha.
I don't like the idea of the oil pump having extra work pumping more oil around to a cooler! I have a full size alloy rad so hopefully that will keep it cool enough

Mine doesn’t either unfortunately!

That’s also what I was thinking, the oil pump wasn’t designed to pump that extra capacity. I have read that a guy was having problems with his VTC on a K20 due to a slight pressure drop with an oil cooler... I’m not sure how much truth is in it but I wouldn’t rule it out
