Fn2 civic Type R
Good evening. Scott here from Edinburgh. Don't own an EK9 but I want 1. Don't have a spare 20 grand so the only way I'm getting 1 is to build it myself.
Currently own an FN2 Type R and it's engine is going to be the starting point of my EK project.
Ironically I almost bought a proper EK9 when I was buying the FN2 in 2013, it was £1200 less than the FN2 I bought but the misses didn't like the EK9 infact she hated it so I allowed her to sway my thinking.
Anyhow looking forward to digging around the forum and drooling over all your EK9s you bunch of lucky bastards

Thanks mate, didn't know there were any EK9s left about here. I havnt seen 1 in about 3 years.

there's a few still about mate, they're all tucked up most of the time though... very rare to see one out in the wild

so what's the plans for your FN2 engine?
Have you got an EK shell to put it in?

Not yet there's not many about for sale and they're all miles away so it's not going to be easy.
Had the fn2 since it was 2 years old so the engines been well looked after, going to rip the balance shafts out, got a skunk2 intake to go on, decent exhaust and all the bits required for the swap.
Just need to find a half decent car so I can get started.

good luck finding one mate, I have loadsa friends in the honda game up here, if I see or hear of anything going I'll give you a shout

Well iv been to see 3 this week, oh my god.
Basically I have a budget of around 2.5k. I was hoping to get a car for a grand or less and spend the rest on the bits il need for the k-swap.
The 3 I looked at were all priced around a grand, all 3 had serious rot on the chassis, 1 looked like it would never see the road again and the other 2 looked like they needed a grands worth of welding.
So it looks like I'm going to have to blow my whole budget just to get a half decent, non rotten shell to work with.
Not much point putting a K20 into a car that's been rotten and had half the chassis patched up.

Well after a massive wild goose chase iv managed to get myself a car. 1999 silver ej9 1.4. 70k miles. Looks reasonably solid. Had a bit of rust on both rear arches, other than that its decent. Pick it up on monday

Picked up the car yesterday, got it back to my old man's to sit on his drive for now. Its not a showcar by any means but looks to be reasonably solid from what iv seen so far.
Here she is with my other civic
