Ok I have to do a head gasket change on my 96 civic Dx just until I can save up enough for a real good engine swap. The Guy I bought the car from made a frankestine out of it, it has the d16 head non v, but it has the d15b8 block(pretty weak, I know). My question is, when I get the head gasket should I get the gasket for the dl5b8 or for the d16, I don't know if they are interchangeable or just plain different. Hope you guys can help, thanx in advance.

They're interchangable but tuners recommend to use the D16Y8 one, because they're made of three layer metal gasket, most d15 headgaskets are cheap and are made of graphite.

^^Yes. This is correct.

D16Y8, now that takes me back.

Certainly was, never let me down, still not received a pm btw.....

Well it let me down didn't it! Just waiting for my mate to get back of tour so j can get to his car and get the photos! Stop been sarcastic and wind your neck in.

I'm sorry what?! I'm not getting into anything with you publicly mate, but don't go telling me to wind my neck in... This is hardly the place, and my above comment contained no sarcasm whatsoever. I'll pm you back when I get chance, but frankly all I know is when it was in my possession it was running perfectly, never had any problems with it and it was well looked after. I'm not in the habit of selling damaged goods.

oh, I see the issue ^^^ take that off line guys. really.
