Has any one replaced the hinges for the recaros? - Find out here.

Id be interested in this too. My seat moves a little on cornering...

Iv done it to bouth sets of mine, Its very easy to do.
The hardest part of doing it was to get the black plastic cover parts off the seats.
The back rest Knob adjustor just pulls off.
Then the plastic is held on by 4 clips which need to be pressed out from behind with a small long screew driver.

Once thats done, The hinges are exposed and the 'E' Clips just ping off both sides.
Once their off the seat pulls apart into 2 peices.

The 2 plasic clasp parts just unscreew.

It is very easy.
I do have pics of doing it if their is enougth interest i could do a write up if its made a sticky :)

James.

Please do a write up it will be very useful. Did it solve the problem? Mine are more noticable now i have spoon frames that are stiffer. It transfers everything through the seat in the corners.

First off get all the parts ready and revove the seat from the sub-frame.

The black cover seen below (Bottom left of seat) covering the hinge needs removing both sides before you can actully access the hinges.
The seat knob just pulls off, no screews on this. It is tight.

(I know the driver seat is a pasenger one, I had 2 pasenger seats at the time as i couldnt get a decent drivers seat, All sorted now with a MINT seat :)

The way to do this is to get a screewdriver or a metal sculpting tool like I used and push out the clips from behind the hinge cover.
Once this is removed the mechanisms are shown.

Now the kit from capital seating comes with the hinge clasp and the hinge retaining clips and spring washer.
The hinge Clasp, the Black round thing in the picture above on the bottom left and the hinge retaining clip on the bottom right with the spring washer behind it.

The next stage is to remove the 2 spring clip, they just pull off.
Then seperate the seat.

Replace the spring washers with the new ones and then reasemble it in reverse order, and install the new hinge retainer. (This removes the sideway movement)

Next just unscreew the round hinge clasps and renew them along with the new Sreews. This removes the play in the seat when not reclined.
(Add a little locktite to the sreews)

Now re install the Covers and its all done.

Thanks for the guide. You are saying that you only used two out of the four hinges that come with the kit? Did I get that right?
