Gym/Fitness thread

Just started using Myprotein Impact Whey as it's quite cheap and it's good. However I think Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey is the best out there. Mixes easily and the tastes are great.

I've also just started using Optimum Nutrition CLA softgels to aid fat loss. Not sure if it works yet or not as I've only used it for 3 days but reviews on the internet says it's good.

Anyone here use pre workout? Been trying out loads such as O.N Amino Energy, O.N Platinum Pre and also Cellucor C4. Have to say, the C4 is the best out of the 3. It gives you so much more energy in the gym and you can really push 2-3 more reps every set. Well for me it does anyways ;)

I'm taking bcaa's during a session. Found pre workouts would leave me on a low point half way through.

With the bcaa's I have a fair but more energy through the whole time.

Guys I gave up on the gym along while ago and since been training for triathlons. Weight still won't come off!

Any thoughts for nutrition for racing? Currently 102kg.

I found pre workout to be only useful for a bit of the workout at first. But now I learned that instead of chugging the whole thing down before workout, I have some before workout and some during workout so you stay amped throughout the whole session.

Should give that a go, hope it helps! :nice:

Nice purse

Hi, just after some advice again, been using this protein for a while now and its helped me put on the weight I needed to along with my diet.

http://monstersupplements.com/store/p/651/1/

Now at the stage where I don't want to put on more weight, just want to get more defined and maintain a good fit body, so looking for recommendations for protein, preferably stocked by monstersupplements.com

Thanks

Had a quick read up on that usn stuff, a shed load of sugars in it, 22g per 155g serving.

I recommend eating instead of protein powders where possible. Failing that ie your boss isn't happy with you eating every few hours I recommend gold standard whey. Decent amount of protein 24g per 30g serving. Low low carbs/sugars.

Instead of that usn stuff if have bought a protein powder and added my own carbs in.

Awww ok woops haha. I did change up.my diet as it seems to be the biggest variable if you like. Gold standard whey even if im trying to cut down and get a bit more defined?

It has very little carbs or sugars in it.

If you can fit an extra meal in then if go with that as a first choice.

USN Hyperbolic Mass for me. That really helped me bulk up. Just make sure you drink a lot of water with it. Been ill recently so lost quite a lot of weight. Going to try get into working out again, i'm a very hard gainer, but when I do gain, man I make them gainzz.

Forgot about this thread, you guys seem to be doing very well, I'm personally struggling to find time, being a service engineer. By the time I'm at the gym I'm ****ed lol
After reading all this I'm pretty determined now though! :)
Think I'm going to attempt that german training. Surprised drinking beer wasn't on the list though, thats normally their speciality.

The German volume training worked well for me mate.

Didn't notice a lot of size but my strength went through the roof. Max bench was 95kg when I started it and after 8 weeks I got a 120kg bench. Deadlift went from 140kg to 160kg and squat went from 115 to 135kg.

So that's not bad lifts considering I weigh 70kg hopefully get a bit stronger as I am thinking about trying to do a powerlifting comp/meet once I get up to about 73kg

What kinda jobs do you guys have if you have time for this?

I worked in a call centre but just got a new job at for a company who distributes Olympic and powerlifting equipment with even better hours so will have even more time to train and focus on my diet :D

Work as an air con engineer. Can manage my own hours so I generally start at half six and hit the gym when I finish at five.

I work in a garage so easy set hours for me. 8 til 5. Gym as soon as i finish which is just down the road.

Ah that's nice any easy then!
I sometimes work away which really ****s it up for me. I do have a bunch of work out videos for stuff you can do at home though which helps :)
It would be better if I could get to the gym when I want!
