GTM Libra (Honda Engined)

It's addictive!
Assuming 180hp from your b16 at a weight of 750kg I'm getting 240hp/ton on my calc.
You'll be surprised the cars that can't match that...

Yeah he said the b16a2 that it came with was dyno 'd at over 180hp, I was a bit skeptical but sounds like that's a reasonable output.

I could've just stuck with that and rebuilt it but I think I'll be happier with the B18C. Sent my P30 ECU off to Htune to be socketed and have a JDM B18C chip fitted too :)

The b16b barely makes 180bhp, but b16a2s will get there with a skim and type r cams.

The torque curve of the b18c is much better. The power is only a little more.

Yeah b18c is much better, should go pretty nicely!

Had a productive day yesterday, mate came round to give me a hand and we managed to get the motor and engine cradle off the tub and were about half way through getting the wishbone mounts off. Slow progress on that front and not something I ever want to have to do again. Bought plenty of POR15 base coat and chassis black top coat, should do the job. I may waxoyl over the mounts too when fitted for belt and braces. Won't look pretty but that's not the point.. Can't believe how bad the rear wishbone mounts were, they literally fell apart when removing the lower wishbones.

Yikes!! That car went from full car to half car in 1 day lol
Brilliant! your making progress on this now should be back to the road soon enough? Hopefully for summer?
All the best mate .

Haha yeah the engine frame isn't too bad a job but all the wishbone and suspension mounts are an utter bastard to do. Gotta get your arm through holes in the monocoque and unbolt them - some are easy and some are like quarter turn at a time. Takes ages!

Killer! Lol, you'll get there , nothing like getting intimate with your car !

Done a bit more tonight, hopefully a few more hours work and everything will be off it.

A few things came today, fidanza flywheel, new OEM clutch, new protech shocks and refurbed cam cover :)

Very nice! Off to a great start with this , no messing about,
Good on ya mate ,

Thanks dude, it's just painful at the moment as you spend days working away and it looks worse than how it started as a full car it needs doing properly and only once!! My mate said that you should only have to do one of these in a life time hahaha. I certainly won't be doing a 3rd. I have to have all the bits there ready to hand, spurs me on and once I'm on a roll I won't stop till it's done. Don't understand how people start projects then stop to buy bits then start again, would never get done that way!

Do you do many trackdays or things like that in it or is it more of a weekend b roader type thing for you?
Be cool to meet up on track and see this.

I might take it on track mate but they make a better road car than they do a track car in all honesty

Yeah that's fair enough, you'd be surprised the cars I've seen on track. just because it's not great on track doesn't mean it's not great fun on track...

That's true, I may have a go but it's not particularly what I'm doing it for, they are supposed to be fun, if a little tail happy.

Spent a few hours last night removing the front wishbone and shock mounts, a few more hours tonight and they should all be off ready for blasting and painting over the weekend. It's a head down by the pedals legs hanging out the door job, small holes in the monocoque for access, feel like I've done some rounds with Mike Tyson.

I will have some bits surplus to my requirements, I don't mean to advertise in the forum.. but if anyone needs any B16A2 bits I have a full bottom end, cams, inlet manifold, TB.. you know where I am.... Also have a DC2 flywheel I'm not using since I've bought the fidanza jobbie.

Good stuff! At least your getting it done mate, and having new bushes and the likes will make car a different little beast all together.

Full underside/suspension restoration by the sounds of it.
I'd definitely give it a go on track though!

If anyone wants the b16a2 short motor come get it.. don't want anything for it, just my space back
