This may be a little daft to but since we are all car enthusiasts many of you must play Gran Turismo.

With GT5 still a long way and prologue has a disappointing number of Hondas, I still religiously grind GT4 at least 3 times a week. Basically I don't do any races. I have just about every Honda and some repeats and tune them with different settings that correspond to real parts ie. gear ratios and suspension settings and do lap times.

Ok. how about this. Lets do a challenge. Gentlemen's agreement style or post a screen shot or something.

My current challenge is to use a EK9 99spec

Stock engine (oil change)
racing brakes
S3 tyres
Everything stock except suspension and LSD.
You can use any suspension but post your settings.

Tsukuba Circuit dry

Best Time: 1:12.865

Anyone up for it?

Wow what a cool thread. I still play GT4 all the time too. Like you don't do any races, just improve my lap times on the Ring and test various tuning / geometry set-ups. Man that makes me sound like a geek! Lol.

Just to clarify setting then, racing brakes, but no brake balance controller ? Any of the suspension with any settings as long as posted ? Any LSD setting ? or just switch to 1.5 way ?
What about ABS/Traction control, understeer/oversteer management ? Allowed on or all switched to 0 ?

I also play GT4.I have bought all Hondas.I have 7-8 ek9 to all colours..haha..I don't do races too.
I am waiting GT5!!!!

Times so far.

Oil change only 1:13.530
Oil change, oversteer management 4, understeer management 4, tcs 2 1:12.257

As above with sports brakes 1:11.959
As above with 1.5 LSD and ORG suspension on stock settings
1:11.498.

Pretty convinced I can break 1:10 if I play with settings and keep trying.

I used to play gt4 but with just analog controllers its no fun. I bought a steering and now I play on the pc, rFactor. I drive F1. This game has more settings than GT4 with regards to tuning

ek9chris: Thats really good time! :nice:
Sorry about the slight vagueness in actual specs.

I just made a determined attempt this morning and came up with

1'11.093 (your time to beat):p

Tsukuba Circuit Dry

Engine: Stock with only oil change

182PS

Racing brakes (to simulate changing to circuit pads in car tests in circuits)

Tyres S3 (to simulate top end radials or semi slicks)

No brake controller

All Traction Control and Stability Off

This time everything including suspension stock.

I am still using the dual shock but if you have a steering wheel you're welcome to use it.

I too think that with the right suspension set up we could reach 1'10.

Keep trying!

Gambatte Kudasai! (Japanese for : Try your best please!):D

All my times were set with S2 tyres, not S3, so will see what I can really do a bit later !

Thought this sounded like fun so i managed to find gt4 and stuck it in and gave it a go.

My best time was 1'10.872
Oil change
Racing brakes
Full suspension
S3 tyres

These are the settings/time:
