I currently drive an ej9 still with its awful 1.4 engine, however i'm looking for some new discs, for a small engine and just general driving around are grooved discs too much or will they not even make a difference? Is it better to just stick to basic discs for what it is?
Cheers

Most manufactures grooves are no extra cost.
So if that's what you want go for it. I run blanks on my trackcar so...

Id say blanks are better but that's my opinion. Grooves do aid for extra cooling so they say but the disc is a bit weaker and can crack before the discs need replaced

Yeah i've heard that especially with drilled and grooved if you're not driving at speed constantly the discs just eat into your pads, and don't want to be forking out for new discs really early on.

Well you could go to your local honda dealer if you want genuine honda items or local motor factor if you want oem discs such as blue print or delphi.

I ran motor factor discs on my old EK3 and they were fine, if it is just a run around I wouldn't bother with anything more expensive, realistically how long do you think you'll keep the car for? Btw I don't think the D14 is that bad tbh, it's nippy enough for what it is.

I run blank discs on my Integra that see's abit of track. I had grooved and drilled discs on when I first had it and they cracked

Yeah i think i'm agreeing with you, i like the look of the grooved discs. Yeah the d14 isn't too bad i guess. Be better with some vtec haha

We can do decent discs and pads for good prices.
On the different finish side, grooved discs don't crack, the drilled ones do. On a daily drive its down to asthetics. If you want a races look, then grooved discs would do that. They won't give you any increase in performance though as you're not abusing them to the point they need to be deglazing the pads

So its not like using grooved discs will shred my pads to pieces quicker than a normal disc?

I'd be surprised if you notice them wearing that much quicker. The grooved ones will help stop your pads from glazing.
We can supply them in any finish - even blank if you prefer.

I'm running mtec blanks in silver coating, Supplied by freaky. They seem to be holding up pretty well.

OEM discs or anything similar, with some good pads would do you well dude.

i have grooved and drilled mtec brake discs with ds3000 and looks great on track! :)
