Front brake upgrade

No you've got to use the calipers and carries from the Accord as they're completely different and bigger to accommodate the 300mm disc.

I think you can use the Accord caliper in the EK9 carrier and still use the 282mm disc but what's the point kinda thing lol.

The pads and discs are top draw I have a 282 front set up with c12 4 pots and the 262 out the back with standard calipers .I use the pd discs and the rn and ra pads along with the dixcel brake fluid . With this combination i honestly can't say a bad word . There used in my circuit race car and never let me down .

Superior products are worth the extra money highly advise you will love the trust you can apply in the braking .

I've also gone for dixcel rear pads as well as the fronts and the 328 fluid so hope it works well.

Never heard of the brand from funky power so couldn't comment. A lot of people run blue print blanks up front.

I got the fronts from R motion as I got the calipers from there too, the rears and fluid came from burn motorsport.

I would go with either OEM, Blueprint or Brembo (these can be bought from local motorfactors) I have used all of these and they lasted ok for a few trackdays and road miles... I have used Mtec on 2 occasions now, 1 pair of grooved and 1 pair of c-hook and they were both vibrating very badly on the first trackday!! I also know other people who said that they had the same problem when using them on track

I was not happy when the Mtec discs were vibrating after only a couple of sessions out on 1 trackday so I emailed them and they said that none of their stuff is covered if used on the track. I could understand if they had done a few hard trackdays but I only got one session until they started to vibrate. For the road I'm sure they are ok but for the track I would personally avoid

If you want to spend a bit more then Dixcel are high carbon heat treated for about £180 or you can go really fancy and get Project MU high carbon 2-piece discs

I have recently bought a pair of Dixcel Plain FP discs and will try them next time on track

As above a friend has an eg k20 track car and both front Mtec discs had several cracks after 2 sessions on track.

Ive went with pagid brake discs, spoken to some guys on the ATR forum and that's what they run and they have an anti corrosion coating to them. really don't want to run grooved discs as the mtecs I had previously where not great to be honest felt like they were off true and when the brakes got warm there was vibration under heavy braking.

Pagids should work well

The Mtec discs mustn't be a good quality disc, I didn't measure mine with a DTI to see if there was more throw when new or if the throw appeared when they were heated on track. If the tolerances are not right or if the quality of the metal isn't great then there will be hot spots or high spots on the disc which will lead to un-even pad build up and badly vibrating discs.. the last thing you want when pushing a car on the track

I've just sent my Mtecs back under warranty because they cracked on the grooves. I didn't mention they had done 2 track days and they have replaced them free of charge. They will do me until I upgrade to Wilwoods or something similar.

I was being honest when I said that they did 1 trackday, although looking back I should have just said they were only used on the road after the response when they washed their hands of it

I'm not even hard on the brakes

Doesn't sound too promising for these mtecs lol! If they crack I definitely have NOT done a trackday haha.

My car spends most of its life in pieces and is only put back together for track days, so I'd say they have done no more than a generous 2000 miles all in. I'm quite happy to take advantage of the 12 months warrantee with them for as long as I can.

I've got pagid blanks on mine holding up well apart from any sign of water will rust them.

Just to follow up on this...

I tested a pair of Dixcel FP plain brake discs with Ferodo DS3000 pads on my Wilwood Midilite brake kit and I'm very impressed, no fade after 5x track sessions and not a hint of brake judder

So far it seems to be worth spending the extra on a good pair of discs
