First swiss EK9 (TypeRx) and modding story


Today was quite a bit an EK9 day:
1) Took the car to the MFK (Aka MOT / Tüv) to register the wheels and suspension and get it legalized and passed everything so it's all official and safe now :)

Fun part was the guy there had to remove the wheels because the data was stamped on the inside of the wheel hub *lol*

2) Decided to remove the top fuel mirrors again and install them in a better way, because the double sided 3M tape which came with them suck on an non-flat surface:

bought some special installation glue for mirrors and haven't installed them yet but tried a small piece because im not sure if the glue works fine on the Poly-propylene backpiece (most glue's don't work on PP-pieces).

3) while at work i also tried a few position's for the tow straps and still have to figure out how to install them in a smart and good looking way :)

4) and then i also replaced the totally scratched (from the previous owner) center console with a used (and only standard-worn) armrest eliminator that i got hands on cheap a few weeks ago :)

Next will be installation of the top fuel mirrors again, cleaning the car and make a photoshoot with the new wheels and suspension :)
 
Looking awesome! I'm now starting the steps to get my EK9 legal in Switzerland! Once I have it legal, we need to meet! :D

nice work man, is the handbrake surround easy to remove? been wanting to take mine off for a while now to clean in around it but feared of breaking it!
 
@ Elchunk, yeah pretty easy, move the seats as much rearwards as possible, remove the two screws and lift it up on the rear end- that's it. done in 2min's ;)

@ Cutz: Thanks a lot. Switzerland isn't that hard compared to other european country. We have a quite big JDM-scene over here and a lot of enthusiasts driving on tracks in germany, france and italy. But it's a lot more complicated to get parts and cars registered compared to countries like UK. that doesn't mean it's not possible or not legal. Just expensive and time-consuming. The good thing is, only real enthusiasts will do the work and not every idiot will drive around in nice and rare import cars :)
 
Yeah, made a little photoshoot a few days ago. With new wheels and Suspension installed. Still photoshopping some other pics and ain't happy het but this is first picture that's done and i love it :) Click on Picture for higher resolution ;-)

Car is looking fantastic, really nice, steady progress. I was over in Adelboaden in July was pretty cold. St Bernadino Pass was a bit wild by UK standards lol

Haha thanks mate :D Yeah this July was a bit shitty, but since august we have one of the hottest summers over here :)
San Bernadino is pretty wild but i love it. though there are better passes with less traffic and smoother roads ;)
 
Wow!,them wheels look great on the car now,and also got a mean stance look about it now,keep up the great work mate.
 
thanks mate, it's almost done, only have a few small things to fix and a few small future-plans. also have a full 240Z restoration project going on and need a new daily soon. and i have the feeling the EK9 is almost ferect by now so doesn't need much work. just enjoying it :)
