First swiss EK9 (TypeRx) and modding story

As Promised i ordered a few parts. this is the first and cheapest one that arrived, a 7$ FM Frequency converter. Due to the fact i don't wanted to spend a lot of money to the hifi system (Can't hear it anyway :D) And wanted to keep the OEM Radio i need this.
Japanese FM range is 76-90 MHz and rest of the world has 94-108 MHZ, so simply shifts the whole FB-band 20MHz upwards. it looks really cheap (And propably is) but it contains a little PLL-Oscillator (Phase locked loop) and as this is my daily business i think this will work just fine for what i need it and for what i payed for it :D

Some genuine and brand new just released Top Fuel Japan Gold mirror glasses, which will fit perfectly to the other stuff arriving soon. you’ll see ;-)

i don't remember the price exept the fact they where really expensive. Tein and Vision dampers were maybe half the price, but vision is out of business now and tein was just the wrong colour :)

Two big packages from japan are on the way here right now - expect another update soon :)

Regular readers will know i was talking about a few "bigger things" ordered within the last few weeks: Here they are:
A Set of Yokohama wheel design Advan RG Racing wheels, sourced used but in great condition from Jahoo Auctions japan for a great price. Had too wait quite a bit to find a set in the right dimensions: 16x7,5" Offset+45mm, Holes 5x114,3 becausre they're out of production for a few years now.. so only used ones were avialeble...
Yeah, they came in a set of WEDS Wheels boxes :D

This wheels have been my dream choice for the car since i ever saw them the first time, so i'm really happy i finally managed to get a set over here:

put it on the scale and weights 6,23kg including the center cap and valve - pretty light :)

The seller wrote they will be shipped without center caps, so i ordered an extra black short type set from Advan, but actually he shipped them with the wheels, so i now have two sets. will see which ones look better and get them installed :D

Today i installed the TopFuel golden Mirror glass on my EK9:
1) Unpack all the stuff and try to understand the japanese installation manual => Fail

2) Remove old mirror with housing by pulling it safely out from the adjustment-motor mounts:

3) Try everything to get the glass out from the housing until you realize that just breaking it is the easiest way :)

4) Clean everything from Grease with glass-cleaner or something and apply the tape to the housing first (Important! If you install it to the glass first wont work!):

5) Add glass to the tape / Housing and safely push it until it sit's fine! Note new mirror glass is slightly smaller and only is hold in place by the tape, not the surrounding case anymore!

6) Put it back to the car and push it in safely until you heard all three "clicks" from the three mounts. If you don't you'll note later you won't be able to align it by the electronic controls correctly ;)

7) Same on the other side:

8) And a before-and-after shot.. Pretty happy with th e result and just hope the sticker is safe anough and lasts long :D the genuine sticker was really hard to get out so i hope this one too :)

just got the needed street legal claim documents to get the wheels registered legally in switzerland. this is normally a bigger issue when there's no official importeur of these wheels, but thanks to underground-racing Switzerland i got em now and im pretty sure i soon not only have the one and only EK9, Toda manifold and SARD Cat registerred street legally in switzerland, but also the one and only set of old advan RG's - Great :D

nothing special, just got a custom made front number plate from Schipra today.
Nice quality. These are not allowed on the streets in Switzerland, so it will only be used for shows :)

One of the biggest problems for EK9 / DC2's are the OEM Recaro speed seats which tend to wear quite fast. This sucks! Because my drivers seat is the most worn-out part on my EK9 i decided to redo the covers and upholstry. So far i've only found the lower part but at least i got that part now :D Soured from Capital Seating and Vision > Seating, Vision and Accessories for Hardworking Environments great and fast service and seems to be either an OEM Piece or at least OEM Spec's. but will make a direct comparison as soon as i install them ;)

Now that i have ADVAN RG wheels i thought i also mit update the lugnuts to some proper advan items, so i got them today :D Now only Rubber is is missing but will be ordered at the end of the week :)

And changed the silver centercaps on the Advan wheels to my favoured black ones. Soon I'll install those damn advans on my EK9. Biggest update on the car since a long time, and a hell of a good one :D
