I had a prefacelift ek3 with b18c6 with p30 ecu.
I am now putting that engine and ecu into a 2000 facelift civic.

Done everything today, but the ecu had a plug spare that needed to be connected. so the harness needs 4 plugs on it i think?

the car cranked but didn't start

so im guessing i need a conversion harness that uses all 4 plugs?

any help?
 
Few chats on the phones, i think i need obd2b to obd1 but on the photo's it seems like theres on 3 plugs not 4 that connect

the old car had no obd port, the new one does. I'm not sure if this makes a difference

you using the wrong loom as the prefacelift civic is obd2a and the new one is facelift which is obd2b

you need obd2b loom
 
is there anyway round this? or roughly simple modification or is it start from scratch again? and fit new loom
 
Haha I just answered this on CL for you dude - OBD2B loom and OBD2B > OBD1 conversion harness. It'll be a lot better than cutting up a loom - sell yours for £150, buy one for £80 - play the game ;)
 
yer. i saw that, cheers. i just don't wanna take everything out again. Is there no way of using a harness.

So can i not use a obd2a to obd2b harness? then another harness from obd2b to obd1

Does that make sense or am i sounding stupid?

No you will have to take the OBD2a loom off the motor and swap it for an OBD2b loom. You can do this with the motor still in the car but it can be a pain in the ass. Then obd2b to obd1 jumper and you will be set.
 
getting a loom today, but finding it hard to get hold of a obd2b to obd1 harness

im guessing there is a lot of difference in the obd2a to obd1 harness? or could I modify it slightly to make it work onto the obd2b loom.
 
haha being impatient and wanting one today, going to collect one in a few hours. cheers
