Hi everyone, I revived an old thread belonging to someone else a few days ago (that was related to steering wheels) with the below comment, but maybe that was not the best thing to do as people just started replying to the initial thread title that was months old. I was just trying to avoid creating a new thread if unnecessary.

I just turned 30 in July and have owned my EK9 12 years come this September :) (Its not my daily any more but I will never sell it). My steering wheel has got very bad with two splits in the top and wore away on the sides, it is the standard EK9 steering wheel and I want to stay OEM. I was hoping to get it refurbed and I have been extremely impressed with the pictures people have put up on here over the years of their steering wheels after they were refurbed by RoyalSteeringWheels.com. However when I contacted them on Monday, they said they do not refurb EK9 steering wheels anymore as they take too long and slow down their other orders. Has anyone else had this experience and has anyone got any other recommendations? I am hoping to get my wheel refurbed ASAP but only by the right people. Thank you for your help if you can provide it:)

Good to see an older member returning and owning a car for over 10yrs! Not sure about the steering wheel though @Dzero4

Thats a bummer, royal did mine only a few months back.

If you speak to Jack at JDMRegiment he's currently working with a company to do flat bottomed ones but will put you in touch with them for just a refurb. Sorry I can't give the name, I did ask but have forgotten

@Pete180 thanks for the welcome back. Used to live on this site everyday. Sorry for such late responses, mental busy with work at moment. Will be spending more time on this site again, as I gather parts id like but could not afford when I was younger. Thank you for that iRELOADED

Hi everyone,

Just to post an update. When RoyalSteeringWheels said they do not refurb EK9 steering wheels anymore, I decided to research Irish based companies as I am from Ireland an it would be easier if anything went wrong. I ended up using "Leather Steering Wheels" (facebook page attached). I am absolutely delighted with the results and the price at €140 is very reasonable. Please see result below.

Thanks for your help lads.
Shane.

**** that looks amazing. Got closer pics? How close do you think the stitching is to OEM?

Hi, ill get closer pictures tomorrow when I take the car out in daylight. :) not sure how close the stitching is to OEM as I do not know how good the stitching would have looked on a brand new OEM wheel, but the stitching looks amazing now.

Some pics in the daylight
