So i noticed my ek4 doesnt have the bar just behind the rear bumper like the ek9 does. Why is that? Whats the purpose of it? Can one from an ek9 be installed on an ek4 and does anyone have one?

You mean the crash bar? just for reinforcement in the case of a rear end hit. Not sure if you can install one but I would've thought so. Is there a difference between prefacelift and facelift?

I thought they all had one. Maybe yours has been removed?

My old vti had a large crash bar. My ek9 has the lightweight one. Both are facelift 2000.

UK cars should have a large crash bar there, has the car been in a shunt or something? My old EK3 (may it rust in peace) was a CAT C and had it removed..... As above, it's just a reinforcement.

no never been in a crash or shunt. everythings all good at the rear lol i think it may have been removed for weight purposes because the seats were removed too.

do you have a pic of how it looks and can one be bolted on?

is the crash bar held on by screwd/boots? does anyone have a lightweight one for sale?

There is 4 bolts that secure it to the body should be able to see them in the boot floor
