Hi guys,

My first ever car was a 1997 Civic 1.4 way back in 2000. I had that car and then bought a Subaru Impreza P1 in 2004. I had the car for 2 years and in that time I also bought an EK4 Civic. 2006 my missus was expecting my 2nd child so both cars had to go!! I ended up get a Lexus is200.

I now want to get a N/A car to starting tuning and playing around with. The EK4 was my immediate focus because when I owned it first time around I absolutely loved it; however my attention was drawn to the EK9 and having watched vids about and researched it the car it seems to be a totally different and better car.

My question is for the money I can get an EK9 for I can pretty much put a little on top and get and EDM EP3.

Opinions please.

Thanks

JT

the only good thing the ep3 has is the engine and some have anniversary recaros. It has a crap chassis and no lsd. and imo looks like **** all squared inside and out. any that i've ever been in the buttons are all worn and it feels real cheap inside. :nono:

I dont own either of them but have driven both, and the EK9 wins hands down, better handling and a more of a race-bred engine + it looks hundred times better.

X2 Well said banana you will have far more fun building an ek9 and making into a fun toy :)

I don't rate the ukdm ep3 as a type r, I think it's more of a vti.
Only part the ep3 beats the ek9 is comfort imo.

theres been plenty of debate about this, search forum mate :)) in my eyes is all down to personal preferance.. id by uk spec and put fixed buckets and tune it up etc

I did that Fitted endurance buddyclub race seats on lower position rails. Put more power in to the car & completly stripped it of weight . The ek9 stock is still so much better.
Dont do what I did & pile money in to the wrong car :blinx:

Cheers mate. Always have been leaning toward the EK9 having owned 2 Ek's before. Look so much better IMO. Watch this space you may be seeing a new EK9 owner in a few weeks.

driven both

when your in your ek9 you feel like you would be so at home on the track

wouldnt say the same for an ep3
