EK9 Honda Civic Type R Cusco 24mm rear Sway Bar Installation

How big can you go on the EK9?
I have heard and seen horror stories from uprating the rear swaybar on EK4s and EG6s and it tore the subframe apart!

I thought to stop this you get something along the lines of the asr subframe brace?

anti roll bar size selection is fine part of fine tuning a chassis, i wouldnt know where to start with calculations/maths/theories on size selection

im pretty sure mugen offers several sizes which makes complete sense if you take above into account

Question for you guys, a while back I bought a 24mm rear bar and brace for my EK4 from VTEC direct. When the parts arrived it was missing the D brackets and bushes. I have not had any response from VTEC Direct for a while now, and can assume these parts will never turn up. Can the EK9 parts be adapted to fit? I.e. the I.D of the bushes widened to 24mm from 22mm to accept the bar, and will the brackets and fixing fit the ASR brace?

As for how much of a difference it will make, at the moment, I have no front ARB, and the back end feels so much tighter. I can assume that with the front back in check, and with this installed, the handling should be sublime!

Hi Kozy,
My preference would be to install a bar in the front if using one in the rear.
It seems that a larger front bar over whats being used in the rear would be helpful with a b or k motor civic--more weight being "swayed" around up front.

Here is a front and rear OEM setup from Honda on their performance civics and integras:

1999-2000 Civic Si: front 26mm, rear 13mm
1997-2000 Civic Type R: front 26mm, rear 22mm
1994-2001 Integra GSR: front 24mm, rear 14mm
1996-2001 Integra Type R: front 24mm, rear 23mm (JDM) 22mm (USDM)

I currently use a 26mm front and a 24mm rear on the USDM Civic Coupe, I love this setup. I also am running ProKit springs and Tokico adjustable shocks.

This is a personal preference of mine and may differ from driver to driver.

Hope this helps.

guys i saw in the previous pics that you used the same end links for the bigger swaybar. can this be done with the asr bar too?i am about to order the ek9 end links.thanks
