My seller told me the same thing but i have no clue if hes telling me the truth lol

I had the same problem. Needing wing mirrors. My EK9 was completely stripped bare and I could not find any location for the mystery relay. I spoke with Livvy & Paul who broke a few cars for parts and they never ever found one. Lastly, gramsn1 (Sam) searched for me and came up with nothing. He sent me a set of mirrors and a switch, I plugged them into my car and like magic they functioned correctly! Very strange. Gut feeling is the relay must be built into the switch (I've tried 2 different units from pre-facelift and facelift) or its built into the mirrors. Unfortunately I have not had a chance to disassemble the units to take a look inside. In my experience I would suggest all of the Internet talk about the mystery window relay is in reference to the DC2. I had posted on numerous forums asking for a location of the relay on an EK9 chassis but never received any positive comments.
Well that's my experience, hope it helps!

Is ur ek9 a 98-00 spec? Because my seller told me those are the years that has a built in relay on the switch. I guess this solves the mystery lol. Thanks bro!

He did say, he bought a set of mirrors from gramsn1. Worth asking which year it came from.

i just finish wiring up my mirrors and they work perfectly fine without a relay. I guess the switch does have a built in relay. My switch has the milky white plug with 2 rows of wiring. I believe 4 wires on the bottom and 6 wires on the top. Other switches i've seen has a green plug with one row if wires.

i been trying to wire my and no luck im trying another switch but i think i got some wires wrong can you help me out i got a 99 hatch dx model i change my floor & doors harness with a em1

Srry i forgot to mention i only wired mines to power fold in and out. I didnt wana go through extending more wires just to have power adjust mirrors because i hardly touch or adjust my mirrors. They are pretty much set for my standards. Also for me its more cooler to have them power fold than power adjust lol. Heres the schematic i used without the relay. Hope this helps. And remember the switch i have is the same as the schematic. plug is milky white with 2 rows of wires. 3 wires on the bottom n 6 wires on the top. Hope this helps and good luck. Btw i also got 99 dx hatchback

hope this is better without the relay lol. Also the 8 red boxes i colored is for the power fold only. The rest of the wires are for power mirror adjust

Thread resurrection - Anyone knows where the relay on a pre-facelift is?

Bump so I don't need to make a new thread.

I'm looking to buy a set for my ej9,

Have we come to the conclusion there is no relay ?

The side mirrors are the same for all years.

99-00 has built in relay in the switch, bigger and on the left with a mirror icon.

96-98 has separate relay, and the switch is different that has it on the other side and says RETRACT.

Actually I'm not sure it does because my 98 pre facelift came with the "facelift" switch. There wasn't any other relay and the wiring seemed intact so I doubt anyone had swapped it.

My pre facelift also has the first switch installed with the mirror icon. Im pretty certain that's not been swapped out as I am the first owner in the uk and had it 10 years now lol.

The year of the car doesn't matter, what matter is the switch. 1998 is the year that honda made changes, so they may have changed it in 1998.

You know there is a relay in the switch because the button stays sunken until you press again.

They did the same on the fog light switch, but the fog light switch is identical all years.
