My cars currently sitting on Cuscos and have a spare set of BC's. What would you guys reccommend for track use, the car wont see road anymore.
I love the cuscos, handling is amazing, ride is harsh but doesnt bother me as all i want is all out performance no compromise. Ive been looking to fit the BC's as they are adjustable whereas only the height is adjustable on the cuscos, however do i really need adjustable suspension or does fixed do the job? Ive never experienced BC's but i have experienced Meister Zeta R's, they feel soft and lazy compare to the cuscos even on the hardest/stiffest settings, thats just how they felt for me.
Whats peoples opinions for my useage, i might sell one set i dont need or sell both and invest in something else.

Thanks

I am of the opinion that suspension is so vastly complicated subject, especially matching spring rates and damping that it is best left to the pros, unless you just want to play around and explore (like me) the very limited possibilities of cheap coilovers like Zeta Rs, BCs and similar they are not worth it. I am no suspension expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I've seen how suspension setting is tweaked in WRC cars - where they change spring rates and then adjust damping to suit. The common practice of "stiffening up" suspension by increasing damping rate is imho wrong - you want the spring to take the grunt of the impact, not the shock! I can see how it could be useful to rack up damping to artificially stiffen up front or rear if it was only to find out the "ideal" balance and then use stiffer/softer springs as required. If you have no desire to do that, I'd say go fixed - Cusco, Spoon etc will have suspension engineers that worked out the right damping for the spring rate they use who are no doubt far more knowledgeable than you or me. I have got cheap 700 quid coilovers to play around with, but unlike many I don't expect miracles from them and I genuinely think something like Spoon springs & dampers would outperform any setup I can possibly come up with. Again, all just my personal, unqualified opinion :)

Thanks for your advice very insightful.
I think my cuscos are 8k/5k which feel very stiff, i contacted Apex Performance (bc distributer) and they reccomended 12k/6k for track use for the Bc br's.
I completely agree with you im never going to figure out the best settings messing around with suspension, and to be fair my cuscos are pretty much spot on for my useage, i could possibly go stiffer springs front/rear to experiment. Any idea where to purchase springs from to suit the cuscos?

Are the Cuscos linear or progressive? Just measure the size of the spring at rest (diameter and length), I reckon you should be able to find a spring that will work. The only challenge might be if Cusco used progressive springs as most coilovers will use linear I reckon - the damping will then be set for progressive spring so I'm not sure how well it's going to work with linear springs. Better check before you spend money on anything! Also, going from 8 to 12k at the front is a significant jump - I don't think the damper will cope well. My girlfriend just bought a Suzuki Ignis Sport as her first car, it came with Apex lowering springs which were significantly stiffer than stock, and the stock dampers could not keep up with them. The result was a very nervous car over any kind of rough surface, it really was like a pogo stick. I've now fitted the original springs and it is SO much better.
