I've been looking at induction kits for my ej9 1.4, just the standard cone filter with the induction pipe. I've recently heard that it delays throttle response and the best induction is the standard air box with a K&N panel filter. Is this true? I like the sound of the cone induction kits as they drown out the sound of the engine. Any opinions on what is best? Pics would help too. Cheers for any help! :thanks:

With a 1.4 you are best going for a panel filter. Save your money for other parts :)

As above^ why waste money on something thats ultimatley going to make your car worse.

However, weve all been there...haha

I've heard a lot about this DC2 setup, and the AEM V2, but the AEM is way too much money like you say it's not worth it. I used to have an induction kit in my old car, and I loved the noise it made. From how much your going to get from an induction in a 1.4 i don't think it matters too much...

Leave it OEM & keep the money back for an EK9 ;)

If you really must change something, then stick a K&N panel filter in the standard airbox.

Think I might just go with some crazy straws instead of pissing £250 into the wind.
