driveshaft length ek9 L&R

Might seem like a strange question , are ek9 driveshafts the same length?
I had my shafts completely stripped and rebuilt, I've now done about 50mile , the gearbox was rebuilt also, earlier my driverside shaft popped out of gearbox, new top and bottom ball joints so hub is in place, I took the shaft out the snap ring seems perfect gearbox side, the shaft itself is OK apart from where the snap ring is to end of shaft the teeth are worn away rest of teeth other side of snap ring back are OK,all the teeth in gearbox look perfect all I can see wrong is some filings in the gearbox which are obviously from shaft,
Only thing I can think of is one shaft is longer than other and that why it has popped out,
Anyone any ideas?

they should be the same length, the end of the inner boot will be different obviously but the shoulders of the cv joints on each driveshaft should be the same distance. iirc the distance between the two outer edges is around 480mm.

Yeah so the shafts themselves bare are both same length? Added a picture of my inner end that's damaged , the snap ring looks perfect what's people's thoughts?

actually not so sure now myself. looking at a picture I took while doing mine one seems to be longer than the other???



looking at Honda parts diagram it show the actual shafts to be the same, so I imagine its just a difference with the boots on each end???
