Just wondering if anyone knows how difficult it would be to swap the red armrest section from an Ek9 doorcard with a normal ek civic one. Only ask as the black plastic on my doorcard is cracked but the red cloth is perfect.

I just did my door panels! I've done a total of 2 sets of hatchback doors before. One of the best methods of removing the old door card is using a cone shape grinding stone attachment on a dremel/rotary tool. You have to be very very careful that you grind just enough for it to detach. It's so much better for you to grind less and try to pry and then grind more if needed on each one. The reason being is that you want to preserve the plastic stem as much as possible when putting a new door card back on. The reason is because you want to use a screw and fender washer to mount the new card back into the door panel. The first set I've done, I used Gorilla Glue to attach it back on without screws. I tell you, the screw method is SO MUCH better and you'll notice that almost all modern cars are held on by screws now. I have no idea why Honda melted the plastic on the door panel. I also used threadlocker when screwing it back in because the car vibrates as usual and since you don't have much threads screwed,, you really want it to stick. BE EXTREMELY careful picking the screw length and screwing it in. The door panel wall is VERY THIN and if you screw too much, it will go through the door panels on the other side and you will regret it like crazy. It's best you pick a screw with a BIGGER diameter than you think because you really want those threads to bite into the very little plastic stem you have.
