Do High Octane fuel really true with there claims??

It will make a difference IF your car is tuned for it. A Fiat Panda is not tuned for 98 or 100 so you won't really notice the difference, but an EK9 or DC2 for that matter....you could tune a DC2 for 95 and then you wouldn't notice a difference between 95 and 98 or 100. But when you tune it for 100 you will notice the difference.

Will affect your torque more than anything and b-series do lack it..... I use silkoline/FUCHS octain booster it makes a difference........ €12 per L, Ireland gets the worst petrol of any country id say the uk isnt far off.....
Your comparisons about power are not totally fair :) Let me just comment.
look at the power ratings from factory in japan ie, DC2 JDM is 198bhp where as DC2 UK spec is 189bhp......
Yes but that is not because of the fuel directly, the petrol map is much more agressive on the JDM car. So the fuel mostly facilitates in this case. Also, the JDM DC2 has a 65mm collector, the European 51mm.
or EG, SOHC 1.5 JDM 130bhp and uk is 115bhp
Same as above about the more agressive mapping PLUS the JDM D15B has 3 stage VTEC; it has an economical profile, normal profile and an agressive profile, while the European EK3 only has the normal and economical profile.

yeah i believe man... i dont believe that much of a gain in power in torque....so i believe its not worth paying the difference of unleaded vs high octane fuel...here in the philippines super unleaded is price at P55/liter high octane fuel P62.30/liter .....

1.00 PHP= 0.0159060 EUR
Philippine Peso Euro
1 PHP = 0.0159060 EUR 1 EUR = 62.8695 PHP

thats how high fuel prices in our country

you do realise that petrol in ireland is €1.52 per litre average?

1.52 EUR = 96.2891 PHP

so when your normal 95 unleaded is 96 peso maybe then you can bitch and moan about how dear your petrol is

our super unleaded that only very few stations in ireland actually do is 1.76 last time i checked so that would be 111 peso in your money

i hate it when people come on here and bitch and moan about there petrol prices being high, especially when yanks do as there petrol is cheaper than our water

@reiner ... If you can afford a 2ndhand, Japan surplus car then i think you can afford paying the difference between an unleaded and higher octane petrol. IMO.

@leeK9 ... People here in the Philippines are yanking about high price of petrol because prices go up from time to time but common people's salaries aren't. Here, no matter hard hard you work, you canot cope up with the cost of leaving. Unlike in your country that you earn what you work for. Its just some of us are lucky enough to earn higher than the rest that is why we can afford to buy cars like EK9.

I bet you we would. Why because just about the entire world relies on Petrol Fuel. Without it the world won't turn. Our prices here in Hawaii have jump from $2.xx/gal to $4.65/gal and no matter how much we complain we still pay it.

Highest we have here is 92 Octane. If you have the money you can play with 100 for $10/gal lol.
Which I do plan to play with once I get my ECU and stuff (240SX, no EK. Sorry lol)

I pay 5.99 per gallon 100 octane [oc-pain is more like it...]
I do pay higher prices already. ;)

@JDM101 hahaa....ur right pare....:) pero di ba sayang din...at least we are lucky to have the petron BLAZE rating at 100 OCtane

@LEek9 jdm101 is right, we are just lucky enough ....anyways your fuel prices are high but i believe it is proportional balance with your monthly wages there..:nice:

Vpower and Momentum 99, both seemed to perform the same on track, all be it 2 diff tracks, Cadwell = Vpower and Donington = Momentum99 no major differences, i'd say if you have the cash use S/Unleaded (I always do)
