Hi all just a little debate, what would you have if you had 8k to spend on one of the two. What are your reasons for your descion ill start

Dc5 because its a Better all round car, with correct suspension mods handling isn't bad. I feel the s2k isn't made for tall people or the bigger people, so its quite a restricted car, only good thing in my eyes is the rwd. I'm pretty sure performance is equal.

I've had both, although my s2k cos about 5k but I preferred the s2k, my dc5 was an 04 plate with 32k miles, I felt it was too big and didnt handle as well as I had hoped, although it was standard, I only kept it for around 2 months.

I have neither of these cars but I think the s2k would be the better drivers car as such.

but for being a bit more practical and using everyday I say the dc5 would be better.

Just from an outsiders point of view :p

Out of the 2, it be S2K for me, just a more fun and enjoyable car IMO, looks epic and its a convertible, Interior is a better place to be in and the engine is fab,

DC5 is capable but out of the two, its S2k.

Dc5 is getting near evo8 money.
I know which i would prefer. :]

If I had to spend it on a honda, is buy two s2ks :p

ive had lots of cars and a few hondas accord type r, ek9 etc but the dc5 is by far the best car ive owned and ive not even pushed it hard yet

next stop will be a s2k but if its not as good as im hoping ill go back to a dc5.

Ive driven both cars, I love the way the s2000 handles like a go kart. But its not got much on the dc5. The dc5 is way more comfortable to drive. Ive had a play with a friends s2000 and he's always behind lol. Believe it or not the dc5 beats a lot of evo's and impreza's without any problems. It all comes down to what you want to use the car for, and what the car can offer you. For me the dc5 is a great all rounder.

S2k.
Honda build s2000 as a show case of what they could do.
Everything on the car is designed with handling and performance in mind.
Those who have driven one will know what I mean.

Id go for a dc5 the stance alone is worth it they are awesome

Im having the same debate in my own head now, something that im considering at the moment is the fact there are so many little niggles with the S2000, Cambelt tensioner, rear sub frame, geometry seizing all of which can turn really nasty and expensive to fix. Not really that kind of thing with the DC5 though........

The s2000 is an all out sports car designed from the ground up with performance in mind.
The dc5 is built off a standard road car same as the ek9 and dc2.

I haven't driven either so i can't give a valid opinion.

Lets split it down abit.

Handling:
s2k has double wishbone front and rear and equal weight balance,
Dc5 mcfherson fronts? Don't know much about them but they aren't double wishbone for sure!

Speed:
S2k 0-60 in 6.0.
Dc5 0-60 in 7 most mags seem to quote.

Power:
S2k 237hp
Dc5 217hp

It's not looking good for the dc5 from a performance point of view.

Anyone no the Tsukuba times for each stock?

dc5

b road fun
motorways fine
daily commuter
handle a bootful of luggage

what more do you want

Tsukuba
S2000 - 107.72
Dc5 - 109.34

For shots and giggles
Ek9 - 109.48

Neither....Pick up a DC2 For £4k - £5k and spend the rest on the car :D
