Dc2 steering rack question

I've recently bought a complete dc2 subframe with rack. I've started stripping it all down to powder coat and rebush before I do the k swap and, just as I started to convert the PAS rack to manual via the guide on here I noticed that the rack has a "EG" sticker on it.

Has anyone else noticed this before? Is there a way I can tell which rack it is without fitting it?

its so sad, but sometimes people replacing ITR steering rack to the EG rack, as the EG rack is cheaper and easier to find it.
To be sure just make a photo of this sticker and post it here ?

Yeah, it wouldn't suprise me! I'll be gutted if it is an EG rack:(

It's currently at my work, will get a pic and post it up tomorrow.

Pics attached.

EG6 steering rack is PN 53601-SR3-G52, EG5 (and others?) PN is 53601-SR3-A53 and ITR PN is 53601-ST7-E62.

Considering you have a ST7 sticker and it is written "98" (I assume it is the year of fabrication) you should have a DC2 rack.

Thanks for the info @NicoEK4! I took a closer look and found ST7 machined into the rack as well.

I'm not worrying anymore:)
