dc2 4.7FD into s4c problems

I'm almost doubting myself now but can say I'm 99% sure that fd came out of an s80 as I'd three s80's in the shed together, one 4.4 and two 4.78.. I can't put up pics of diff and if I could there'd be no need because this would already be sorted.. Hasn't been mentioned but I'm in Canada working and shed is in Ireland. As said I'll be back in couple of weeks and no issue refunding you @JohnOBrien8

If you are saying that the 4.7 ring gear does not fit your oem EK9 diff, then it means it's not an oem 4.7 and is not from a DC2 Type-R. It will be an aftermarket 4.7 designed for the smaller B16A box.

Thats a1 @Karleg6 ,i was just wondering was there anything i could change easily to make it work, this thread can be locked

IM almost sure that you need you need the dc2 counter shaft, first gear and all the gear spacers for that shaft to fit a dc2 4.7fd in a non lsd s4c. To fit a 4.7fd into a ek9 s4c all you should need is the crown and pinion and it should all fit with no issues. the VSS works off the diff so that should work with no issues as well. It would see seem that the guys would be right about it being a aftermarket crown.

Old thread but piqued my interest as I'm messing with gearboxes right now.

As a matter of record, the standard VTI/S4C open diff ring dear has the 110mm ID as speculated in this thread.
