Day insurance

Can you get day insurance or a couple of days insurance seen stuff like temp cover etc but are they legal?
Also if I rang my insurance company would they let me insure another car for a couple of days? As I'm buying a car but going to take it off the road and do some work on it that's why I don't wana insure it for the year!

AFAIK temporary cover from your car insurance is usually done on a 7 day policy. (that what mine was like anyway)

I don't know much about the 1 day insurance you see on TV etc, but when ive tryed them ive had no luck with them due to my age (im 23 for peets sake lol).
 
A mate of mine insured his car for a month (this was whilst he was learning to drive though) and during that month, I went out with him 4-5 times a week. Had a spot check by the rozzers and all came out ok :nice:

What you mean mate! If I ring my insurance company they can insure me for the week with no annual fee!

Sorry, I should of made that more clear. What I meant was even if you only wanted to insure the car for 2 days for example, the cover would be for a minimum of 7 days, with an additional fee.

E.g. My mum insured my ek9 to get it back home when I bought it, only needed 1 day, they insured it for a minimum of 7days for an extra fee of £5.35 for the 7 days lol.

Again, that was with the insurance company I was with at the time, different company's may differ.
 
So just ring my insurance company and ask if they could insure me on it for a certain amount of time?

you should be able to get a cover letter for a few days.
 
I was with Direct Line but they wouldnt insure me on the ek9 so i had to change to Admiral.
 
I'm with elephant now! So they should send me a cover letter once I ring them!
