Championship White Facelift EK9 Civic Type R
Late 1998
Price: SOLD
Mileage: 125,000
Location: Berkshire
MOT: Valid until 30/04/14
Tax: Valid until 31/10/13
Can hardly believe I’m doing this myself but here we go. Unfortunately the time has come far too soon to sell my EK9, simply because I need the money and I worry about it constantly and need to be worrying about other things. I am selling up with everything so my life will be plain and boring so I can focus elsewhere.
Car is priced far too cheap in my eyes but I understand it has the rust ect so I’m biting the bullet and letting go for what I think is reasonable.

Model comes with driver/passenger airbags, ABS, electric windows and PAS. It also came with all RX model options - folding mirrors, door tweeters, keyless entry.
Car was imported by Tegiwa in 2006 and has had 2 owners in the UK since including me.
Have as many recipes as I can have. Also from previous owner so the whole time it has been in the UK.
I gave the car a service about 2 months ago fresh oil, sparkplugs, oil filter ect and have always frequently changed gearbox oil and engine oil.

Modifications:
Toad Ai606 Cat 1 Alarm/Imobiliser - I have the certificate to prove
Hi-flow cat Spoon N1 (with silencer if wanted)
Mugen Pedals
Front 3 Point strut brace sprayed rocker cover red
Rear upper strut brace sprayed rocker cover red
Fully re-bushed using Hardrace bushes (fitted by Endless Horizon)
Spoon fixed springs and dampers

Car was undersealed under a year ago and still looks like new under there. It had been previously undersealed which still looked great.
Also has had all OEM disks+pads under 1 year ago and new radiator.
Has all been converted to MPH when imported.

Goes without saying the car is always allowed to warm up before driving and never has gone over 4000RPM before engine has been warm for some time.

No smoke on VTEC and pulls great as you will see. No crunches through any gears and all feel very tight.

Bad points:

Has rust on one arch (still solid but needs treating)
Rust appearing on other arch but just needs clearing up before it gets established.
Front bumper has scrapes from previous owner.
Usual stone chips.
Driver’s Seat is getting warn.
Millage on the car shows 160.000 miles this is because the previous owner had a B18 in there fitted by endless horizon got everything to prove this and all build threads ect from previous owner but B16B has covered the listed millage. Can prove all this build thread is on here.
Reverse gear makes a whining noise more than usual (selects fine and works fine just the noise)

Inside pictures to follow and engine bay

No interest? haven't seen another EK9 out there for this price and this is not in bad condition. Don't make me put it onto auto trader for some idiot to buy it and blow it up :damn2:

Seen this in the flesh, you wont find better for the money thats a fact. Needs to be seen to be appreicated. Glwts man good buy for someone

My old 9, can't believe you're selling so quickly but GLWTS mate.

Josh has got the ad spot on, the chassis and engine are great. BTW, I did the engine swap(s) ;-) I'm also happy to answer any questions as I was the 1st UK owner but I doubt there's any more I can add to the above.

Someone has asked me about the engine mileage due the the failed B18 swap - the B16B will be ~500/1000 miles less than the chassis..

Why was the B18 swapped back for a B16B? Did it spin a shell or something?

You will have to ask the knightryder for the full details but if I remember yea he was having problems with the B18 and after a lot of messing around put the B16B in and sold the car. Not that you would ever know but that's what happened to it.

nice price for this! why hasnt it gone? id drop you a pm if i could sell my current car...glwts

Cheers guys. I'm in no rush just means I get to look at it more out my window ;)

Also have the rear Type R sticker to go on genuine from Honda

Yup... twice. Suspected a poorly baffled sump or oil pickup line to be the issue in the end. The B16B was a nice and strong engine so I put it back in to save me spending lots to fix the B18 and allowed me to recoup some costs.
