His dyno seems to be putting out very high and imo false power figures. Get it on a dyno dynamics and see what power it makes;)

I will do at some stage. Im only goin on wat results it got when it was dyno'd when it was mapped and only commented to give dat other lad advice from someone who is drivin a stroked b16b and den ye just get stupid comments back like his.
All i know is its pulls like a ****ing train and is far far better over standard b16b

Wasn't having a go at you just trying to point out that realistically your car isn't making that kind of torque which i'm sure you will find out if you do a power run on a dyno dynamics.

Raising engine compression and running stock ignition timing values theres a good chance your going to induce detonation, see how long your bottom end will like that;)

would last about 3000miles, seen it been done.

if i was this lad building the engine i would advance the dizzy slightly, i would also use adjustable cam gears and get some 'safe' settings to use from TDI or CPL

also predet shouldnt happen before vtec as the o2 sensor shoudl keep things safe, it seems people are quick to jump on the guns and chuck their vast amounts of knowledge into short sarcastic replys on this forum, considering i never said go out and cain the **** out of it for 200miles....?

so your saying that you'd build the engine and trailor it to the dyno straight away for mapping? not even checking the car starts and drives after youve just freshly rebuilt the head up?

Idiotic advice.

elaborate, since you seem to be the oracle of engine building info.

Well the way you were saying it as if it was ok to go and drive the car as per normal after doing the work, you never said not to drive it at WOT. And after that statement "advance the dizzy" i'm wondering if you know what your talking about at all.

I never said u were it was that other gobshite's stupid comment when he knows nothing and he's the one looking for advice.
But sure its the same here anyway, anyone gets anyway high figures and everyone jus starts questioning straight away!!

aw lad no need to get in bad humour with me i was only acting the edgit with the luky bag thing!!! :nice: sori mate there is no need to call me a gobshite!!!

i dono enough about it thats why i put up the thread!!

Sorry the actual figure was 164.2...my bad.
And yea it was in TDP, wat about it?
Engine used to belong to a friend of mine who was on this Tango'd Civic and thats wat he got outta it

What ar u on bout lad? no need for the jealousy

164.2lb-ft??
Sorry but with standard cams and just B16B pistons in basicaly a B18C you beleive you have gained +30lb-ft from a bump in compression??? those figures are VERY optemistic :nono:.

Unless you have a small supercharger and you didnt know it was in there. haha

Here is a prime example to why i almost never trust Dyno figures.

well thats not what i was saying at all. so why just assume it?

tbh this forum really hasnt appealed to me and im glad i didnt have to submit my exam papers to forum based readers to get my motorsport engineering degree!

and yes to get a good idle or even an idle at all (without adjusting the cam gears first) i expect you will have to advance the dizzy

i fitted custom blox cams + excessive head mods to my B16a a while back, only way i could get it to the dyno was to drive it there. i managed to tweak everything in chrome to get it drivable and made the 80mile journey with no trouble at all

id rather limp there than trailer it there tbh

well with moderators with an attitude like yours im surprised you get any newbies stay long.

saw in another thread that someone posted '<insert username> for the ban'

seems that this forum lacks people with constructive input, but has too many people willing to post to make it sound as if they know more than the person creating the thread.

Iv bin on here most of this year an id say this is one of the freindlyest forums around and there are plent of newbies that seem to stay around. Id say there is plenty of constructive input and actualy quite a fair bit of good info on here.

If poelpe are not goin to explain what they mean then theyr goin to be slated for it if it could be asumed to be something else.

And as for the ban comment then i think thats probably a result of them being unsocial or insulting in anyway.

well unfortunately i normally speak to people that are quite clever when it comes to cars, so i speak as i would to them. they know that im not thick and dont 'mean something stupid' when i say it.

that being said for anyone to just assume it anyway is just ignorant.

i havent been on here long so just gave my view from what ive seen so far

Actually quite the opposite, we are welcoming on this forum and i'm sure that is the consensus of any new members who have joined the forum. as for constructive input "put back together and then enjoy the nice power increase. obviously a remap would go down well too but it could wait" really stupid advise IMO, how can you tell from behind your computer screen that his car won't be detonating badly running on the stock map and blowing bits out of his pistons??? It's better to play it safe than take the risk and end up causing damage.

I'm sure member jimbob could add to this thread. IIRC he sold a mapped hondata s300 to a guy who ran the ecu on his car without having it mapped for his setup even after been advised to do so well his engine didn't last to long, I guess he was told also it could wait

Also EG-nath, while you might be the fount of all mechanical knowledge, the person who began this thread is obviously not and the advice you gave could have ended them up with rather a large bill or unrealistic expectations for their build. Whilst you may have the knowledge to know what can be risked safely and what cannot, the information you gave could all too easily be misinterpreted by someone without your knowledge or experience and send them in the wrong direction.

No theres standard CTR cams in it. And a teg r throttle body and wat not but no supercharger lad.
whys that? just because someone got higher figures than you, you chose not to believe them??
Bet you wouldnt be saying the same if it was you that got those figures...

I'm closing this thread as the arguing seems to be escalating. Should anyone have a problem with that then they can PM me.
