well lads im building my car at min soon to stroked!!

dono what to do wheather to use b16b cams or sell them how much they worth???

was on to a few fellas they were telling me that skunk 2 pro stage one can be used on standard springs and retainers! but idle quality wont be great!!

also telling me that blueprint do cams that dont need springs and retainers! think your man said they were stage ones but ive been on web any all i can find is this stage 2??? here is the link!
Blueprint Manufacturing - Quality Performance Parts - Camshaft B16A/B18C Stage 2

any looken for advice and opinions please :nice:

Why don't you buy stage 2
valvetrain and cams? Skunk2 stage 2 combined with b16b pistons wth a stroked bottom end will make good power with a good tuner.

Why not just keep it OEM with the ek9 cams for the mean while and see how it feels ?

ya but doing the valve train is serious money lads!!!

was just going to put in cams to help with power!

what can i put in??? that will be any better than stock b16b cams and still retain factory idle????

did any one ever use just upgraded springs and retainers on standard valves to run skunk 2 pro stage 1s?????

i've a set of pro1s myself and you must use upgraded springs/retainers with them.. don't confuse the tuner series stage 1 with the pro 1s, you can get away with the standard springs and retainers with the tuner series.

standard valves will be fine.. your going to need a set of cam gears with the pro1s aswell..

how is your idle with pro stage one lad??? i have adjustable cam gears!!

if your going to mod your car do it the right way. Dont cut corners cause one things expensive and etc etc, dont bother doing it at all then.
Save your money and leave it standard.

thanks for the advice lad!! im strongly thinking of skunk 2 pro 1s with valve springs and retainers!!!

does the head need skiming to run these cams???

i dono just asking!??!

ive decided to go with valve springs and retainers in skunk 2 with pro stage 1s!!

good choise??????

I would personaly do this if i was going ahead with the mods,

Skunk2 Pro valves
Skunk2 Pro Springs
Skunk2 Pro Retainers
Skunk2 Cam gears
Skunk2 Pro stage 1 cams
Change your valve stem seals OEM once you got the head off
Light skim to head and block
NEW OEM Headgaskt
NEW Timing belt/water pump/oil pump/ timing belt tensioner
A Remap

oh and also inspect your cylinders for any damages

X2 on that, apart from the head gasket. I would go for a thinner one to bump up the C/R a touch. But thats just me.... OEM head gaskets are probably one of the best quality though...

OEM headgasket would get my vote too.

Full brain crower stage 2 cams and valvetrain is about 1000 and makes good power too

why skim the head lad just as a matter of interest???:thanks::confused:

ive a spoon head gasket got now so will that do insted of skim???

i agree and thats what im going for!!!:)):D

You would skim the head to increase compression slightly and also so you have a clean flat surface for your head gasket to seal against
