I think as with other forums we should maybe restrict bumping of for sale threads to say once week. Seems to be getting a bit pushy lately.:secret:

If someone wants what your selling they have the search function and most people browse the first few pages.

Dunx

I personally dont see the problem in this.. never understood why other forums had a no bumping rule...

I dont bump but Im lazy lol, for people who really need a sale, they want it at the top to have more opportunities.

Just my thoughts

Think its fine as it is.

Other forums have it like ITR etc and its just a ball ache IMO

We allow users tu bump threads, but if they abuse this we usually notified them about this, I will talk this with the mods :D

It does get annoying.

As soon as one person bumps their thread everyone else has a go, so the original thread is back to the bottom anyways.

or is there a way of reducing the clutter from the ANCIENT for sale threads? as when you delete the thread, it still remains rather than wiped off the section.

would probably help users to find what they want so it doesnt come up with old threads?

what about a notification after 1-2months to the thread starter to update their thread or it will be deleted. ie notify a mod that the tread is no longer needed or give it a bump/update details.

not a bad idea !

Threads can be totally removed from the forum on request :nice:

;) just an idea. would stop people bumping ridiculously old threads.

i suggest a 1 bump per day limit if the thread has not been posted on as a comment counts as a bump.

Sometimes I like to know the costs on old threads when I am putting an item up for sale or looking to buy it can be helpful to get a price guide but I understand what people mean. I think its just one of those things perhaps a lock so people can't bump it but keep it on the forum for reference for a while. Unless space is an issue

What is annoying is venders/breakers bumping about 8threads in a row lol

can you charge for each bump? say buy $10 to be able to bump 10 times, $1 per bump?

unfortunately no my friend :( :(

rvm i've thought this for a long time, i feel the vendors should stick to the vendor section...

Yep, if someone wants something from say a breaker they can check the breakers section to find what's about, or throw a wanted thread up and the breakers can fight it out there.

Totally agree, there should be a private sales area and a vendor as well.
I'm sure the vendors would get annoyed if everyone posted in their sub forums.
