Block sleeving in UK

I'm struggling to remember their name but I think it's CPL that do it over here.

Your looking around 1300 supplied and fitted from what I've been told.

That's not completely horrendous, thought it would be somewhere around that figure

I know the done thing is to just Vtec a B20 but I like the idea of keeping the slightly shorter stroke and balanced b18c bottom end with girdle and oil jets and going to like 85mm bore

Car is fine the way it is for now but something I'd be tempted to try in future.

Thing with stuff like this that really boils my piss is VAT

I asked performance unlimited and they said 1620+VAT

Soon goes from just about stomachable to **** that for me.

Can understand why people just buy a B20 for a couple hundred quid and go from there

Problem with a b20 is it will break. They all break lol

All the ones I know of have broken.
I see someone put a b18 crank and rods with forged pistons in a b20block. Pretty sure that ran for a while but it always had oil leaks iirc

Go to Darton sleeves I had a quote off them to sleeve and supply a b18 block including sleeves and fitting bore and hone was £1390

Jesse I'm sure you'll know better than me but didn't Rob say it was roughly the same price to get a sleeved block from the states? And they do them day in day out so the quality of the work is waaaaaay better.

Also B20's are fine as long as they're built right and not revved as high as what most B series go to.

I think he did say something like that yes. Only difference is the weak pound now I guess but I'd do the same if I was buying a sleeved block. Go to the guys that do this all the time. It's not really something you want to mess about with imo.

I have some broken rods i will sell for less than the price of a b20 conversion.

Save time AND money!

There are plenty of good company's in the uk that do sleeving

http://www.ivorsearle.co.uk/

http://www.gosnays.co.uk/acatalog/

Gosnay did my B18C, I bought the sleeves and pistons from REAL ST, they charged £995 to fit the sleeves and match my pistons with 0.0045" piston to wall clearance, my B18 has been running on 30psi of boost for the last 3 years and no problems what so ever
