Hi people,

I am from Brazil, so dont worry my mistakes...

I have a 1997 Ek4 with k20z3 swap and i am having problems with the oil pan height. It is centimeters from the ground.

Do you know the best option to solve this problem? Some peopole tell me to buy K-Tuned oil pan and others tell me to get k24 oem oil pan! I dont think anyone will really solve this problem because it is too close to the ground...

Any good idea?

Thank you!

What engine mounts are you using?

What wheels, tires, suspension are you using?

One of the best "clearances" I have seen are from hassport ekk1 mounts.

Photo with 15 inch wheels 205/50/15 tires on a ek with eibach springs.

I am using Ekk2 hasport munts with EG subframe... i heard that this is the best option to win some centimeters, that not correct?

16" wheels, 45 tires and adjustable suspension (truhart)

About the oil pan, wich one do you think is the best option to win some centimeters?

I always thought the k tuned sumps were just k24 copies anyway? you can pick a second hand k24 sump up for a couple of ££ if your lucky and get a clockwise motion drop in baffle, its the route im going

I have the K-tuned/K24 steel sump. It gives you a little bit more ground clearance and is steel, so if you do hit it, less chance of it cracking.

I also have the clockwise motion drop in baffle sump, it is not a direct fit and dose need some persuasion

FWIW my sons K20 EK is pretty low on 15's and has no issues with the stock sump hitting anything.. He runs Koni Yellows with 12k springs... soft suspension is the main problem with sumps hitting IMO....

Surely the oil pick-up is right at the bottom of the oil pan? So a shallow pan won't fit due to oil pick-up clearnace?
Leaves you with the only option of lifting the engine up, tilting it or both?
Either that or sump guard 4x4 style?

Apologies for the thread jack

Hi Stevie, how did you "persuade" the sump baffle in? I have the same sump baffle and plan to run a K-Tuned steel sump also. Did you have to do any cutting/welding on the sump baffle?

Cheers

If you go onto my build thread I think I may of gone over what I done there.
No welding to the baffle, some time and a grinder and you can get it too sit snug in the ktuned sump.

Unless you are running stupid negative camber hella flush
you dont supposed to have any issues even if you had aluminium oil pan..

I don't run stupid camber and the height of my Integra is pretty sensible now it's got a k20 and I smashed a Ali sump. My suspension is quite soft and did take off a hump in the road though..
