B18C6 Missfire.....

Ok so the problem is still there... Just wasted £450 on race entry fee's this week as one lap in qualifying it started stuttering again.

Only happens in VTEC and when the engine is hot. Seems to be running really lean.

Changed the O2, MAP and ECT sensors over the weekend which had zero effect.

Valve clearances a bit to tight perhaps?

Have you tried running it on a stock p73 ecu? IIRC you are running on a basemap chipped ecu? Depending where you got the basemap from, the map may be very bad...IMO basemaps should only be used to allow a person to drive their car to a tuner to be fully mapped!

I'll take a look at valve clearances this afternoon. Why would this cause the stuttering in VTEC though?

The ECU is an H-Tune chipped ECU with a B18C6 basemap so surely just essentially a standard ECU?

I do want to try another ECU but don't have anything spare to test with. Would a DC2 ECU plug up into EG6 loom? I'm not so hot on all the different ECU types and looms!

Am quite sure that the dc2 ecu would not fit as am sure they are obd2 whilst your EG is obd1

I do need to check to be fair as I have a high flow inline filter and removed the standard set up.

Although both the filter and fuel and nearly brand new. I'm going away for a month now with work so won't be able to look at it until I'm back but please keep firing idea's at me!

If you have a compression tester check your volumetric effiency. I'm in the USA so we go
off psi, but basically take you numbers down
for cranking compression. Then put all the
plugs back in execpt keep your compression
tester in the weak cylinder. Fire it up, and
let it run for a second. Bleed the air on thecompression guage, and snap it to full throttle for a second or so. Record it at its highest, and the compression shouldn't be
less than 20% of your cranking compression. So at 150psi cranking. The running shouldn't
be less that 120psi. If the difference is greater than that. You're having issue with either not pulling in enough air or not pushing out enough air. Hope this helps

I'm having similar problem with my ek4 b16a2. Car is completely standard apart from stainless system and decat. I'm getting a hesitation at low acceleration and I have changed the ignition coil, dizzy cap and rotar, whole dizzy, map sensor, iacv, fuel filter, tps, plugs, leads, done ignition timing, and reset ecu number of times and no joy

The way I found out what my problem was: accelerate slowing on the TB, let it idle and then try it quickly. Mine hesitated when doing it quickly and was the fuel filter
