Hello, new to the forum and this is actually my first post. Hope this is within the rules!

I have a 98spec UKDM DC2 I've just started using for track days. Something in the bottom end has went. I wouldn't be too confident in stripping the engine to try find the issues myself but I would be confident to try an engine swap.

So I'm looking for a B18C6 engine. Not looking for any fancy valvetrains or forged bits just a stock engine will do with oil pump, water pump etc all in good nick.

I'm guessing a striaght swap would mean I don't need an ECU to go with it?

Anyone able to point me in the right direction would be appreciated. Cheers, Jamie.

You'll be better off looking on facebook groups if your after it quick IMO as forum isn't as active as it once was

Any idea what went as may be a real simple job. Shouldn't need another ECU if your swapping a UK DC2 B18C6 into it
 
Ah ok I'll have a look around there as well never thought about that.

I was out for too long on track on Knockhill so constant right hand turns. I don't have a baffled sump either so I'm guessing it was some sort of oil surge problem. It was a loud ticking and rattling noise to me sounding from the bottom end. Whatever that would point to I'm not sure I've not got any experience working on engines, just do brakes suspension and servicing myself really.

Happened on the Sunday, never got the car back till late Monday then away on the tuesday morning so I've had zero time to look at it.

If your up knockhill way take it to Hypertech and Duncan will be able to diagnose it pretty much instantly and tell you if a fix will be more cost effective
 
I'm an hour away from knockhill but I'll give him a phone when I'm home and see what he thinks. Cheers
