Hello new to the forum so sorry if it's in the wrong place or been posted before just can't find anything on it haha,

Bought a B18C4 Engine with a LSD gearbox so it's the S9B. Bought this swap complete from a Aerodeck VTI. Got the driveshafts, ECU, Obviously the engine and the gearbox also the loom from the engine too. It's going in a 2000 X Reg Facelift EJ9

However the Engine has a prefacelift loom and mine EJ9 is a facelift. So when we checked the ECU they're completely different (The plugs are different due to different Models) How would i go about doing this? A few people have been saying Buy a P2T Ecu that is demobilised and others have said just buy a conversion harness for the interior loom to the ECU that i got with the packaged.

I'm just really confused with the wiring side, the engine part isn't that difficult imo, Like fitting and getting running, just the wiring haha!

I take it aerodeck isnt obd2a? I thought it was lol

I'm not too sure, on my D14 ECU it has 2 pin ports, but on the VTI ECU it's got 3 pin ports next to eachtoher if you get me?
Bit hard to explain when i don't have it with me atm haha

It says i need to buy a P30/p28 and i wiring loom, can't i just buy a OBD2A to OBD2B and demobilise the P2k ecu i have?
Yeah that's what I thought initially, but there doesn't seem to be many OBD2A to OBD2B conversion harnesses? besides quite expensive ones it seems

It would be beneficial to buy a P28/P30 at this point in the build as you'll need one of these to map it later on down the line, save doing the job twice kinda thing.

Personally I would get a OBD2B to OBD1 conversion harness. The MB6 ecu uses OBD1 plugs despite being OBD2A. This will allow it to be plug and play.

The MB6 ecu will have an immobilizer so you will either need the key and transponder from the MB6 or immobilizer will need to be removed from the ecu. Link below shows how to remove the immobilizer.

OBD1 ecu then sounds the way to go, you can then keep that ecu too if you wanna do mapping etc further down the line since the OBD1 ecu can be chipped. Get an OBD2B to OBD1 harness off ebay or wherever and that should do the trick :nice:

I went through all this myself pal I bought a p28 and a jumper harnesss now my beast is working perfectly

As the guys all said use an obd1 ecu It's the best way to go, you acidently damage the ecu in anyway and you will have nothing but problems deffo go p28/30
