b18c rebulid ?

^this. Even fresh out the packet from honda the inlet port of the pump is full of machine dust. I was shocked when I cleaned mine!

Unless you're planning any major tuning ARP bolts aren't worth the hassle, they are press fit and then the rod has to be checked to make sure it's round. Re use your standard bolts. There's nothing wrong with them.

So you're basically back to what I recommended in the first place. Hone, rings, bearings seals etc.
Those where my kinda thoughts on arp bolts too , engine will be staying relatively stock with only breathing mods . And yeah haha although I was open to do anything the engine needed doing from the start , turns out that's all it needed .

i think your right, p72 rods have studs, I think...

Just re torque them as per the Honda manual,

A word of advice on your new oil pump, strip it clean it and lube it before fitting it,
I'll inspect the oil pump and lube it up when I recive it , thanks for the heads up on that . The Honda manual only covers the b18c5 engine so torque specs for that ?

Yeah use the c5 torque specs. That's what I've done on mine on bolts that are applicable.

On B18C6 it's tightened by controlling stud extension, not torque because it is way more precise.

Engine is built ! Yay
Got a friend who's a toolmaker at a local engineering shop to make me a stretch gauge

So I could do the Conrod bolts to Honda specs .

Nice work mate, looking forward to see how it all turns out!

I'm having same issues with my race car burning through most of it's oil in a 45 min race. So will be looking to do this in the new year.

Hello I am new user
I have Honda Civic Si 1994
I would like to get new engine B18C / B16B / B16A SIR
Do you have one of these motor?
could you help me about this situation
The engine have to ship to Turkiye

Good work matey, they're pretty easy to work on aren't they? I've read all sorts of bullshit on various forums along the lines of NOOOO don't do a DIY rebuild on a fabled mythical VTEC engine, you will ruin it, it will never be the same again... and so on. Not hard when you ask the right questions, do the research and take your time.
